After shoveling snow in 2010, Al developed debilitating back and muscle pain. Throughout his extensive rehab, strength training, and treatment, he was instructed to go to a mall and start walking. Since then he has competed in the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (NVSO) multiple times and won bronze and silver medals. Now he is focused on winning gold and helping inspire others to live purposeful, healthy lifestyles and stay active!
