Real People in Scripture episodes

  • A (minor) prophet named Amos |Season 4 - EP. 6

There are several books called "The Writings of the Minor Prophets". Most of the time, these books are ignored. Because they were written before Jesus was born, we focus more of our attention on the writings included in that time and after.

But who were these men? What did they share and why? Can we learn anything about Jesus and our Triune God in these books?

Hosea's story is rough. God instructed him to marry a woman who would be unfaithful. Why? Tune in and listen!

Join us this season as we explore real people who lived in real places at very real times.

  • Amos (Minor Prophets #3) |Season 4 - EP. 5

Inspired by Real People in Scripture. 🌟📖Minor leagues. Minor surgery. Minor role. When we think of minor things, we tend to think something is less than or smaller. As a result, opening God's Word and seeing the "Minor Prophets", we tend to think that they aren't as important. WRONG! These prophets were called by God to impart words of encouragement and reproach. God gave them clear words as well as ways to communicate to hearts and minds. This episode in this new series features the Prophet Amos. Called from the fields where he was working as a shepherd, Amos used his to share a call for God's people to turn their hearts back to him. While some of the illustrations were a bit graphic, there is also an underlying poetic beauty. Watch this brief video to learn more! • Micah (Minor Prophets) | Season 4 - EP. 1

Inspired by Real People in Scripture. 🌟📖

Mary was still in the house when Jesus came. Martha told her to go and see Jesus. Mary did, and said to Jesus the same thing that her sister had said. And then she wept. And then Jesus wept. And then God was glorified. It’s a beautiful moment that we should celebrate!

  • Lazarus – Bouncing out of the grave | Season 3 - EP. 10

Inspired by Real People in Scripture. 🌟📖

In John 11, we read of a puzzling event. Lazarus, the friend of Jesus was sick. In fact, he died. And Jesus, his friend whom everyone know COULD have healed him, didn’t come. How do we see God being glorified in this? How do we see the impossible happen in spite of doubts.
