The Right To Read has been one of the most talked about documentaries amongst educators and literacy advocates across this nation. It delves right into how this nation has been failing our children when it comes to them becoming successful readers due to inadequate resources, systemic racism and not teaching the science of reading. Well in this episode esteemed educator, author, and owner of Literacy Innovations Ebony Donley and I are discussing our thoughts about the film. We are holding no punches in giving our assessment of this film that I highly recommend that you take a look at for yourself. Of course we give our own solutions as to how we must continue to implement everyday ways in which we can eradicate this high level of illiteracy that plagues our Black and underserved communities.
