Hi friend!
As we move through different seasons of marriage and life, it’s easy to find yourself focusing more on what’s not working than on what is—especially when responsibilities increase, and challenges arise. Over time, this pattern can slowly influence the atmosphere of your home, your mindset, and even the direction your marriage is heading.
In today’s episode, we’re talking about one powerful habit that can help shift this pattern. It’s a simple, intentional practice that has the potential to change how you think, how you relate to your spouse, and how you experience your marriage—even during difficult seasons.
So how can one habit make such a meaningful difference?
Tune in to listen and find out more!
We hope this episode blesses you.

Hi friend!
Have you ever noticed how fear shows up in marriage? It’s not always loud or dramatic. Sometimes fear whispers. It looks like withholding how you really feel because you don’t want to be misunderstood. It appears as distance, when avoiding a hard conversation feels safer than being vulnerable. Fear builds walls—quietly, slowly, and over time.
But trust?
In today’s episode, we’re talking about what it looks like to overcome fear together—not by trying harder, but by trusting God to guide your heart, your words, and your connection. Whether you’re newlyweds or years into the journey, this conversation will help you move closer, communicate more honestly, and love more courageously.
Let’s grow in faith.

Faith is more than a Sunday-morning declaration—it’s a daily walk. In this episode, we unpack what “living out your faith” really means, especially within marriage. Together, we’ll explore how to bring faith from words to action—in the way we speak, forgive, and serve each other every day.
If you’ve ever wondered what faith looks like in real life—not just in church, but in the quiet, ordinary moments of marriage—this conversation is for you.
Alright, let’s dig in!

Hi friend!
Have you ever noticed how the way you see your spouse shapes the way you treat them? When you focus only on their flaws, your words can become sharp and your patience thin. But when you choose to see them through God’s eyes—through His love and grace—your heart softens, and your connection deepens. In this episode, we’re asking: Who do you say your spouse is?

Welcome to Reconnected Marriage.
I’m David Haastrup, husband to my blessed and beautiful wife, Ebun, dad of three, co-author of A Couple’s First Ten Years, Christian Marriage Coach, and Conflict De-escalation Strategist.
Ebun and I have been married for more than 16 years, and we know what it’s like to feel disconnected while navigating work, parenting, relocation, and unexpected life challenges. We also know what it’s like to deepen our connection and intimacy over the years.
Through our marriage, my experience navigating conflict in high-pressure healthcare environments, and my work with couples, I’ve learned something important:
The argument you’re having isn’t always the real issue.
Sometimes, something deeper is happening beneath the words: unspoken expectations, emotional triggers, different perspectives, unresolved hurt, or patterns you may not even realize you’ve fallen into.
On Reconnected Marriage, I share practical tools, biblical wisdom, and real-life lessons to help you understand what’s happening beneath conflict, respond differently when things get difficult, and restore connection.
We’ll explore:
At the heart of the conversations we’ll have is this:
You don’t have to wait for your spouse to change before taking your next courageous step. You cannot control your spouse, but you can choose how you show up—and when one person chooses a new response, it can begin to change the way you relate to each other.
Maybe you’ve quietly thought:
“We love each other. So why do we keep ending up here?”
“I want us to understand each other better.”
“I want us to feel close again.”
If that’s where you are, join me as we explore practical, faith-rooted ways to deepen your connection, experience more peace and unity at home, and begin moving toward a stronger, more connected marriage.
