Hello! Welcome to the Recovering Trash Person Podcast trailer! This little teaser will give you some insight into what to expect. First and foremost, this podcast is my experience/perception/perspective only. I am not a medical professional and I am not advocating for any particular lifestyle. I do hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an associate license for Clinical Addictions Specialist, but this podcast is meant for self-help and entertainment, not education or diagnosis. This podcast is meant to awaken, inspire and motivate – not dictate, demand or mandate.
Things I will be discussing may include: trauma, addiction, mental illness, self-harm, suicide, relationships, codependency, child abuse, sexual assault, racism, Black Lives Matter, our governmental systems, anarchy, anti-capitalism, trans rights, sexism, misogyny, the alphabet mafia, same-sex marriage, spirituality, religion, witchcraft, politics, true crime, paranormal experiences, social justice, sex, work, (and sex work), reproductive rights, body neutrality, fatphobia, anti-diet culture sentiments, chronic illness, legalizing cannabis, among many others. This trailer (and the intro to each episode) serves as a disclaimer that sensitive topics with be discussed and listener discretion is advised for potentially triggering information.
I plan to publish a podcast Monday through Thursday every week, typically less than 30 minutes, unedited. Each day is devoted to a special topic:
Mental Health Monday (discuss my own experiences with mental health, symptoms, self-care and identifying triggers)
Transformation Tuesday (discussing progress and growth I have already experienced and goals and intentions I have for the future, including inner child work, shadow work, 12 step work)
Witch Wednesday (last Wednesday of the month is wild card – listener poll vote) (discussing my experiences with witchcraft, both theistic and nontheistic, including esbats/sabbats, divination, deities, spell casting and working with the elements)
Throwback Thursday (typically much shorter than the other episodes, discussing my funny misadventures, mostly from my early adulthood)
Last weekend of the month:
Self-Care Saturday (discussing ways I take care of myself, set boundaries, listen to my mind, body and spirit)
Spiritual Sunday (discussing ways in which my higher power and spirituality guide me and how to set the tone for the week ahead)
These topics and dates are subject to change and I am open to ideas and suggestions that are presented in a kind and respectful manner.
The goal of this podcast is to create a community of people who identify with this journey, whether they be baby witches or newly diagnosed with a mental illness all the way to folx that have been on this journey for decades. I hope you will join me! Thank you.
