All NFL teams must reduce their roster to 75 active players, by Septmeber 1st, before 4 p.m. ET. The Green Bay Packers have finished game one, of the preseason defeating the New England Patriots 22-11.  Wins and loses don't mean much in the preseason.  This is a time for players to impress the coaching staff, and have a spot on the final roster.  Each game is an opportunity to take practice time, and put it in live action against another team.

Tonight, Michal Cohen; of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, joins the show.  Cohen is the newest Packers team reporter, and has been covering training camp.  The biggest question that will be answered is "How does the Green Bay secondary look?" We will also ask Cohen who has been his biggest surprise and disappointment, thus far in camp.  Injuries can derail a season, so we will get the latest injury update, and see if there should be any concern moving forward. The NFL preseason has started, which is overshadowing the excitment going on in Major League Baseball.  The Toronto Blue Jays have won 11 games in row, and have a 1/2 game lead on the New York Yankees.  The two teams square off for a series this weekend.  This is as close to playoff baseball that your going to get, in August.  The St. Louis Cardinals won a recent series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, increasing their NL Central lead to six games.  Do the Pirates have enough to catch the Cardinals?  The New York Mets have quietly gone 8-2 in their last 10 games, while the Washington Nationals have dropped three games, in a row.  What do the Mets need to do to hold of the Nationals?  Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

It is not the regular season, but week one of the preseason still has some meaning.  Many of the veterans have been in this situation before, and we are trying to figure out how long the starters will play.  For others, it is the start of a four week battle to try and make the team.  Every team has some very important position battles, so these games have meaning.  The Green Bay Packers are set offensively, but have some questions to answer, in the secondary.  The New England Patriots need to prepare Jimmy Garoppolo, if Tom Brady is still suspended.  We will answer these questions and update you on any breaking news and stories from tonights pre-season games.

Women's professional football will have a new member, in 2016.  The Woodlands Wildcats will join the league, for their inagural season.  With a new team comes a new coach.  Laura Cantu, was named Vice President and Head Coach, on August 10, 2015.  Tonight we will talk to Laura about taking on the venture of starting an expansion team.

Laura has been involved in professional sports since 2003.  She was the quarterback of the Houston Energy from 2003 until this past season.  In between her playing career, she was a marketing associate with the Houston Rockets.  Along with having marketing roles, in the NFL.  She worked with the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Houston Texans.  Before assuming her new role, she has served as a marketing assistant for the Houston Dynamo, of the MLS.

Logan Thimons was named to the PA pre-season All-State team.  He is a senior at Freeport Area High School, and is looking forward to continuing his career in college.  At 6-1, 220 this outside linebacker has committed to playing at West Virginia.  After last season, Thimons came on The Red Light Sports Network and talked about his commitment to West Virginia, and his plans to enroll, in the spring semester.  We will talk to him about how he has prepared for the upcoming season.  We will get his thoughts about the team expectations, and what it is like to play and prepare knowing that he has a home, after high school. Something new for the 2015 NFL season, and athletic trainer in the press box.  The NFL has been dealing with a concussion issue, for years.  Each year, the competition committee reviews ways to improve player safety.  Currently, if a player is suspected of having a concussion, they will be put through a series of concussion tests.  If the player passes, they can return to game action.  Should they not pass, they are restricted from returning.  

What if a player takes a hit and tries to play without leaving the game?  AKA, Julian Edelman taking a vicious hit in Super Bowl 49, and continued playing.  With the new rule the athletic trainier in the press box can alert the side judge.  When the official is contacted, the game will be stopped and the player will have to receive medical treatment.  This is a medical call to the human eye, not a choice by either team.

Marvin Lewis has raised some eyebrows with his comments. Rebecca Toback published an article "Marvin Lewis shows naivety in commenting on concussions in the NFL,." on SB Nation. In August, every team has hopes of reaching the Super Bowl.  However, the experts put a damper on those hopes.  The USA Today published their 2015 NFL predictions.  Tonight, we will take a closer look at this list.  The division winners are: Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers, Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, and Denver Broncos.  Do you agree or disagree with this list? 

The AFC wildcard teams are the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.  With those predictions, they have three teams coming out of the AFC East.  The last time three teams; from the division, made the playoffs was 2001, when the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets qualified for the wild card. 

The NFC wildcard teams are the St. Louis Rams and Minnesota Vikings. The Rams have not finished .500 or better since 2006, and have not made the playoffs since 2004.

The Championship games are a rematch from last year.  The Indianapolis Colts play the New England Patriots, and the Green Bay Packers play the Seattle Seahawks.  However, this year the USA Today is saying last years losers will play in Super Bowl 50. They have the Green Bay Packers winning their fifth Super Bowl. What are your thoughts?

Almost one year ago, TMZ released a video of Ray Rice knocking his fiance out, in an elevator.  This started a whirlwind effect.  The NFL stiffened their domestic abuse policy, and organizations such as NOMore.org started to gain recognition.  Rice was released by the Baltimore Ravens and suspended by the NFL.  He has served his suspension, and is free to sign with any team. However, no teams have offered the former NFL star a contract.  Do you think that he deserves a second chance?  In perspective, Greg Hardy was signed by the Dallas Cowboys.  He was convicted for assualt. When the prosecutor failed to reach the woman, the case was dismissed in Hardy's favor.  So Rice and Hardy are in the same situation.  It is clear that both committed domestic violence acts, and their charges have been dismissed.  The only difference, Hardy is working and Rice is waiting for a call.

The USA today published their 2015 NFL predictions for every team.  They predicted a Green Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl.  The Packers were minutes away from the Super Bowl, last year.  Depending on what side you are on, the Packers collapsed, or the Seattle Seahawks mounted a historic comeback.  The rematch is in week 2.  Is it to early to say that this is a must win for home field advantage?  Listen in or call the show with your thoughts.

The Green Bay Packers always seem to find a gem at wide receiver.  This year they drafted Stanford wide receiver Ty Montgomery, in the third round.  Ted Thompson has always operated the draft by taking the best player available.  Some questioned a wide receiver, with the glaring needs on defense.  With Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb locked up long term; and the emergence of DaVante Adams, the Packers were only one injury away from having a depleted receiving unit.  With the early success of Montgomery, there has been talk about the Packers carrying six receivers, into the regular season. Jordy Nelson said, "Taking away the athletic part of it, just his approach to understanding our playbook, asking questions, trying to be detailed as much as possible in a short amount of time."

Last years third round draft pick Khyri Thornton is in a different situation.  Thornton injured his hamstring in the final preseason game, and was placed on the injured reserve list.  Had he not been injured many believe he would not have made the roster.  He has not impressed so far in camp, and could be looking for a new team.  What are your early thoughts on training camp?
