As the Lamb opens the fifth seal we see a shocking sight, which is the souls of many martyrs which have been slain and they are voicing a prayer to God for vindication. In this sermon we begin to look further into this incredible vision.

As the Lamb opens the 6th seal we see a terrifying picture of the great day of Lord. Not only do we see the de-creation of the created world, but also the hard hearts of mankind.

In this sermon we look at the three hymns of praise ascribed to the Lamb coming from the four living creatures, the 24 elders, the host of angels and all of creation. May our worship conform to the example given in this chapter of Revelation.

As we continue to look at the worship service that John witness in heaven we are introduced to the Lion and also the Lamb. While we wouldn’t initially see how these seemingly polar opposites could both refer to the same person, we see how both reveal the identity and work of Jesus of Nazareth.

After finishing the letters to the seven churches, John is taken up through an open door in heaven and is allowed to witness the worship that is happening around the throne of God the high and holy one. This concludes the letters to the seven churches. Laodicea was a church that thought itself to be rich and lacking nothing, but Christ exposes the true identity of the church and counsels her to buy from Him that which cannot perish.

Though Philadelphia was small and facing opposition from the Jews and from the political powers, they remained faithful and steadfast in their devotion to Christ. Only this church and Smyrna receive no rebuke for sin or false teaching. In this sermon we finish looking at Christ’s words to the comatose church in Sardis. Jesus exposes the true identity of this church as one that has a reputation, but is dead, and He then gives the cures to its recovery. We look at the 3rd, 4th and 5th cure in this sermon.

As Jesus addresses the church of Sardis we find no commendation as in the other letters, but Jesus speaks clearly and firmly because this church is dead and has fallen into a dangerous slumber. In this sermon we begin to look at the cure for the comatose church.
