In this episode, we talk about how, for the cost of a cup of coffee, you can help little Sunrise get the internet he needs. More importantly, we talk about the wonderful AMC series, "Dark Winds", full of all kinds of Native creatives. We love how well it was done and send all the love for the Indigenous peeps who worked on it. Hurry up, Season 3. So, sit back, relax and enjoy this episode.

REEL INDIGENOUS!
CW: This week we discuss an epidemic in Indian Country: our missing and murdered family members. Special Guest Sarah Adams-Cornell, activist and citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, helps us navigate the multi-generational trauma that leads to MMIW, ways to spot it happening, and how to help.
How does the media fit into this narrative? Our hosts Monica, Angela and Candice join Sarah on this episode to discuss.
We fan out over Patrick Willie joining us this week to talk Reservation Dogs and the wildly popular YouTube channel "Natives React," and his career as a World Champion Hoop Dancer!
There was a discussion of where to find Dark Winds. It was on AMC Network and AMC+. Season one of Dark Winds is on MAX, Formerly HBO MAX, but we understand that there was a divorce, and HBO was left with nothing and MAX got to have all streaming content. Unfortunately, MAX got in a toxic relationship with Discovery and we don't know how that's going to turn out, but we are praying for them.
Anyways, thanks for listening. And remember...

The runway is full of Creative Native fashion and we are in the center of it all with interviews featuring Teton Trade Cloth by Lenape CEO Leslie Jerden, artist and model Casey Riggs @tomahawkcustoms, and designer Sage Mountainflower.
Them dogs is back. And they is howling!
In this episode we get to talking about all things Reservation Dogs. From getting out of California to Star People to deer woman getting her just deserts. But not necessarily talked about in that order. By the way, i just learned just deserts is spelled with 1 "s". I guess if you get just desserts, then that's a good thing. Anyways.
So, thanks for listening. Please feel free to check us out on the social, message us if you want to reach out and we hope you enjoy listening.

Continuing on with the Barbenheimer experience, we will talk about a small independent movie called, "Oppenheimer", AKA, the "Ken" movie. Also, Angela didn't want to spend 3 hours at a movie theatre so she decided to stay home and watch a series called, "Manhattan" - and may have had a better experience. Once again, we talk about lack of (or in this case, no) Indigenous representation in a story that has a lot of Indigenous connections in relation to the atomic bomb and nuclear power.
We may have misconstrued our facts and knowledge so we will link some articles and stuff that was used in preparing for this episode.

Tune in and get inspired by these Indigenous Powerhouses! Lily Gladstone and Jhane Myers visit with our hosts on this special Indian Market episode.
We were able to grab a few minutes at deadCenter Film Festival with the incomparable Lily Gladstone to discuss Quantum Cowboys and Fancy Dance.
For a nice chaser, we revisit our interview with Jhane Myers, who is, once again, nominated for an Emmy, this time for Prey.
In this episode, 2 Barbies and 3 Kens talk about "Barbie". We discuss the controversial lack of Native representation in the Barbie world and the possibilities of offensive content. We also recognize the Indigenous representation of America Ferrera and Ariana Greenblatt and celebrate matriarchy and the need for more representation in media.
We also do a brief discussion on "Oppenheimer" and its total lack of Indigenous representation. But more on that next time.
So, all you Barbie Girls and those who are Kenough, put on your pink and join us as we talk about "Barbie".
