RTD welcomes Pete Hailey.  Pete is a Commander's beat reporter for NBC Sports Washington and also teams up with JP Finlay and Mitch Tischler for the Washington Football Talk podcast.  Pete will give us his insights on the new stadium, the new name and of course a look forward to the '22 NFL season.  This is episode 57 and last year Pete tweeted about going on a podcast because it was their 57th episode and "everyone knows the 57th episode is when a podcast hits their peak". The Ref the District team discusses where the Washington Commanders should build their new stadium as talks heat up in both DC and Virginia over where it could land. They also discuss the final game of the NFL season, and the leak on Jerry Jones and his own cheerleading scandal. 

The Ref the District crew go over the NFL's recent hires and preview the Super Bowl. They also take a look at how the Senior Bowl went and which players might have stood out for the Washington Commanders.

The Washington Football Team revealed its new name and logo live on the Today Show.  The new name will be the Washington Commanders and the new hashtag is Take Command.  

The boys from Ref The District will discuss the new name, the Super Bowl matchup and will also speak to Hogfarmer Keith who told us in training camp the new name would be Commanders.  We have video proof!  Lastly we'll also touch on Thursday's Congressional Roundtable with former Commander's employees and the toxic workplace environment they endured

Last weekend's divisional round of playoffs is being talked about as the greatest weekend in NFL history.  Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen put on a show never seen before in such a big game as Kansas City scored in overtime to beat the Buffalo Bills to head to the AFC Championship.  Earlier in the day, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers overcame a 27-3 deficit to tie the LA Rams but the Rams moved in to field goal range and kicked the winning field goal as time expired to win and head to the NFC Championship game.

On Saturday, both visiting teams kicked game winning field goals as time expired to propel the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Francisco 49ers to their respective conference championships.

What will it take for the Washington Football Team to reach the NFC Championship for the first time in 30+ years?  Are they a QB away? Where do they need the most help?

Believe it or not, this is the 1 year anniversary for Ref The District.  On January 31st, 2021, Ref The District aired their first episode and haven't looked back since.  They'll look back at some of the most iconic moments over the last year and look forward to many more.

The Washington Football Team ends their season with a 22-7 win over the New York Giants. Neither team was in the running for the playoffs and it showed. They'll begin their offseason now.
