John 14:27-31a
Jesus said to his disciples: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard me tell you, 'I am going away and I will come back to you.' If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me, but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me.”

Reflection
The Scripture is filled with many prophets, many people who speak for God. And one is going to give value to those words because of the person's authority. But no prophet was ever as clearly able to be the one who speaks the truth to us other than Jesus.
He has full authority. He claims it without any hesitation. Everything I have said to you is not from me, but from Him who sent me. How can we not believe in the words he has spoken?

Closing prayer
Father, often we are troubled and afraid because we're not sure. We're not sure who we are and what we're here for. But you have told us so much that you ask us to hold and ponder in our hearts about that which is beyond our understanding. But once seen brings us great peace. Speak to us in our hearts, let us listen and know your voice is true. And we ask this In Jesus name, Amen.
