With the Diablo 4 release date still some distance from now, I want to establish why I think seasons must be more than a battle pass. I recently did a Diablo 4 gameplay hands-on preview breakdown.   The latest Diablo 4 news will continue to get coverage here.  I did a recent show on the Diablo 4 hands-on preview from different sources. I would like to see another Diablo 4 update on season specifics. We recently covered the Diablo 4 dev update live where they discussed the Diablo 4 Codex of Power system, Lilith and Inarius, and more.  Diablo IV is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment and is the fourth main installment in the Diablo series. The game was announced on November 1, 2019, at BlizzCon 2019, and on June 12, 2022, a 2023 release was announced.

With very little Transformers Reactivate info I am putting together my own must-haves list of gameplay must-haves. While we wait after the debut Transformers Reactivate trailer it is clear that the live service focus will be important.  I am obviously waiting for Transformers Reactivate gameplay to be revealed so we can analyze it. We have already looked at the Transformers Reactivate leaks to get an idea of the type of game it will be.   The prospect of a new Transformers game coming out has many excited. I am hoping that with a Transformers new game releasing we get a solid offering.   TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE, a 1-4 player online action game, being developed in collaboration with Hasbro, Inc. This PC & Console co-op game will offer players an opportunity to explore a fresh, new story within the TRANSFORMERS universe.

It seems that Modern Warfare 2 is testing a Call of Duty open world game according to recent leaks. There was a Call of Duty Black Ops 3 open world game being built in 2013.  COD BLOPS 3 was the first game to introduce Specialists that seemed very similar to another live service shooter game at the time. It is my theory that COD MW2, DMZ, and WARZONE 2 are all the continuation of a testing ground for an open world Call of Duty game in the future.  Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is a 2022 first-person shooter game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It is a sequel to the 2019 reboot, and serves as the nineteenth installment in the overall Call of Duty series

haveRecent leaks indicate that Playstation is not worried about Xbox Game Pass according to Jim Ryan. The Xbox Activision deal has been fought by Sony due to Call of Duty and exclusivity to Xbox along with concerns about Game Pass.  There has been continued comments from Phil Spencer about a Call of Duty Xbox exclusive and offering the COD franchise to Sony and others. This would make a Playstation Call of Duty deal last around 10 years.

The latest Starfield news has many asking if it is getting delayed again. We still don't have a Starfield release date but apparently, another Redfall delay has taken place. Recent comments from Matt Booty seemed to indicate that Starfield would land after Redfall.  I will be sure to cover any new Starfield gameplay footage that is released. But I anticipate a Starfield update in the early part of 2023 due to the recent rumor about Redfall.  Starfield is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks.

The best video games of 2022 is a long list with a few stand out titles. I will start with my top 5 games of 2022 and move into a longer list of honorable mentions. The GOTY 2022 debate continues to happen about Elden Ring vs God of War Ragnarok even after the results.  I will discuss where I place Horizon Forbidden West, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga along with GOWR and Elden Ring. Then I will give you a rundown of the best games of 2022 beyond just my top 5 video games of 2022. My game of the year 2022 probably won't surprise people, but the order of my top 5 will.  The Game Award for Game of the Year is an award presented annually by The Game Awards. It is given to a video game judged to deliver the best experience across creative and technical fields. The award is traditionally accepted by the game's directors or studio executives

I think that Hogwarts Legacy is setting a dangerous precedent with how it handles its launch date content. The Hogwarts Legacy release date content is set up in a strange way with players needing to buy the Hogwarts Legacy deluxe edition to access all activities and content.  Harry Potter fans interested in Hogwarts Legacy Dark Arts Battle Arena may not realize it is launch date paywalled and not in the standard edition. This will take significant portions of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay and put them behind a specific edition of the game. The latest Hogwarts Legacy trailer showed brand new spells and some of them might not be in the base game the since the Hogwarts Legacy showcase showed Dark Arts spells being used against waves of enemies.  Hogwarts Legacy is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment under its Portkey Games label. The game is set in the Wizarding World universe, based on the Harry Potter novels and film series including Fantastic Beasts.

Seeing Xbox sued by gamers is not something I expected to see. The Xbox Activision deal continues to come under fire and now it is from members of the public.  We already saw "FTC sues Microsoft" hit headlines in previous weeks. And the Microsoft FTC situation continues to pose a threat to the Xbox Activision Blizzard deal going through.   Phil Spencer and others continue to publicly focus on a Call of Duty Xbox exclusive not becoming a reality. Microsoft is even on record stating that a Playstation Call of Duty deal could be 10 years.

The latest Jedi Survivor gameplay details a lot of combat changes to the game. Seeing the Jedi Survivor stances as a central aspect of the game has me very excited.  With clear inspiration from Ghost of Tsushima, the Jedi Survivor combat changes should really deepen the action.  I think that the Jedi Fallen Order 2 gameplay trailer was everything I wanted to see. I did a breakdown of the latest Jedi Fallen Order 2 trailer as well.  A sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, was announced in January, and at The Game Awards, Respawn Entertainment, Electronic Arts, and Lucasfilm Games confirmed the release date — March 17, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC — and dropped the first full trailer.
