In John 6:1-15, Jesus feeds a crowd of five thousand people with just five loaves of bread and two fish. This miracle establishes Jesus as a provider, prompting the people to want to make him their king. However, Jesus withdraws from them, as he did not come to be an earthly king but to establish a spiritual kingdom. Who is Jesus to us? Do we praise him only when he blesses us? Or simply because he is worthy?

In John 5:31-47, Jesus is speaking to the religious leaders and tells them that he does not need human testimony to confirm who he is because his works and the testimony of the Father already bear witness of him. However, he goes on to say that there are others who testify on his behalf, including John the Baptist and the scriptures, which point to him as the Messiah. Jesus warns the Jews that their rejection of him and his message ultimately means their rejection of the Father who sent him.

In John 5:18-30, Jesus is confronted by the Jewish leaders who are angry that He is claiming to be equal with God. Jesus responds by explaining that He only does what He sees the Father doing and that the Father has given Him the authority to judge all people. Jesus emphasizes that He and the Father are one and that those who honor the Son also honor the Father. In essence, Jesus is teaching that the Father and the Son are united in purpose and action, and that by following and obeying Jesus, we are also following and obeying the Father.

John 5:1-17 tells the story of Jesus healing a man who had been an invalid for 38 years, sitting at the Pool of Bethesda, with no one to help him up the steps. Jesus tells the man to get up, pick up his mat, and walk–he obeys and is immediately healed. Are you burdened with physical pain or sickness? Or do you find yourself stuck in despair and hopelessness, waiting for someone to help you? Jesus brings both physical and emotional healing!

In this special Easter Sunday message, we will see how the Gospel speaks to our fears about death, aloneness, being unloved, the future, the past, shame, lack of significance... Whatever your burden, you can lay it at the foot of the cross of a Savior who brings a joy that overcomes.

In this special Palm Sunday message, we see multiple groups crying out: the disciples rejoicing as Jesus enters Jerusalem, the Pharisees expressing outrage over the peoples' adoration of Jesus, and finally Jesus himself weeping over the city. Through your joys and your heartaches, your closeness or distance, you can cast your cares upon Jesus and he will be faithful to respond. He understands what you're going through.

In chapter 4:27-54 of the Gospel of John, we find two examples of people coming to believe in Jesus as their savior, and then telling others about him, leading to their salvation. The Samaritan woman at the well returns to town, and many come to faith from her testimony. Then a man from Cana and his entire family believe after Jesus heals his son. Their stories highlight our role as Christ followers in sharing the Good News with the people in our own lives.

Chapter 4:1-26 of the Gospel of John features Jesus' encounter with a Samaritan woman at a well. He speaks of "drinking from the well of living water," which refers to Jesus' offer of eternal life through the Holy Spirit. By accepting this offer, one can satisfy their spiritual thirst forever. What in your life do you thirst for? Are you seeking to know God deeper?

John 3:22-36 describes John the Baptist's response to his disciples' concerns about Jesus baptizing more people than him, reminding them that he is not the Christ and that Jesus must increase while he must decrease. John testifies to the supremacy of Jesus, stating that Jesus comes from above and is above all, while he is from the earth and can only speak of earthly things. He ends by emphasizing the importance of believing in Jesus and receiving eternal life through him.

Chapter 3 of John features Nicodemus, a Pharisee who visits Jesus to learn about him. Jesus tells him that to see the Kingdom of God, one must be born again, not physically, but spiritually, through belief in Jesus Christ. Being born again is a transformation of the heart and mind, leading to eternal life in Christ. Are you born again? Do you believe?
