Darcy James with OSF is also the Board President of the Kewanee Area United Way and she has designed a workplace program that the United Way can help you set up at your own business to make it as quick and easy as possible for your business to support the Kewanee Area United Way. The Wethersfield School Board held their monthly school board meeting on Thursday, September 8th. At the meeting it was announced that Wethersfield student, Yuki Li, had received the National/Rural Small Town Award, an award handed out by the National College Board honoring academic achievement. Also at the meeting the Fiscal Year Budget was discussed and approved. And the schedule has been set for this year's Homecoming Celebration week at Wethersfield.

Prairie Flowers and Owen Lovejoy provided the inspiration for an incredible mural that is being completed this weekend as Princeton celebrates the annual Homestead Festival. Karen Cling with the Princeton Area Arts Commission spoke with WZOE about the dual inspiration for the mural, the artist Chuck Major who came up with the design, and the volunteers and members of the Public Arts Commission who have dedicated their time and effort to bringing this lovely mural to life.

A new version of the COVID-19 vaccine aimed specifically at combating the newest dominant strains of the virus, is arriving soon at the Henry and Stark County Health Department. This new booster will be made available to anyone who has already gone through their first two shots and a booster. RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department tells WKEI that plans are in the works for a series of Booster clinics for the COVID-19 Booster which is aimed at combating new variants of the Omincron strain of COVID-19.

The new movie Jane starring Riverdale's Madelaine Petsch, tackles tough topics such as toxic friendships, depression and suicide through the lens of a pair of teenage girls dealing with the suicide death of their closest friend, Jane. The director of Jane is Sabrina Jaglom and she spoke with our Sean Kernan and about the tough themes of Jane, the ways film technique can enhance our understanding of these difficult topics, and the incredible young cast that helped her to bring the story of Jane to the big screen.
