Kewanee Mayor Gary Moore joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Tuesday, May 24th for a wrap up of Monday Night's Kewanee City Council Meeting. The City budget for the next fiscal year is complete. The Police and Fire Department have secured new equipment including much needed new radios and safety equipment and all within the City Budget. The Mayor also discussed several grants received and other possible grants available to the City of Kewanee. And, as usual, we talked about demolitions, another rundown home has been set for demolition as part of a record year for demolishing decrepit buildings in the City of Kewanee.

Rebuilding Together Henry County will host a golf outing on Friday, June 3rd with a twist. Not only will there be golf, there will be yoga and a wine tasting all in one fancy package. Samantha Rux from OSF Saint Luke Medical Center and OSF Saint Clare Medical Center joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Monday, May 23rd, 2022. Among the topics were a look back at Hospital Week and the honors won by OSF Healthcare Mission Partners, the Daisy and Sunflower Awards were handed out recently, honoring the outstanding work of Mission Partners at OSF Healthcare. Also among the topics on Monday were a new helicopter hangar in Galesburg that will be home to the quick response helicopter team at OSF. Also the OSF Golf Outing at Midland Golf Course is coming up in the first week of June and teams and sponsorships are still available. You playing in the OSF Golf Outing helps raise money for the OSF Foundation which can go toward helping those in need.

There is a new member of the Henry County Board. Daniel Krippen was chosen by the respective parties and approved by the Henry County Board at the May 19th meeting of the Henry County Board. Mr. Krippen is replacing Ned Richardson who stepped down from the Henry County Board for unknown reasons last month. Henry County Board Chair Kippy Breeden and Henry County Administrator, Erin Knackstedt joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Friday, May 20th to wrap up the Henry County Board Meeting on May 19th.
