A popular local car show is returning this weekend under a new name. The for J.C Whitney Car Show is back but now called the Carparts.com Car Show. The family friendly car show with food and kids games will take place on Sunday, May 22nd at 761 Progress Pkwy, La Salle, IL 61301. Hours are 9 Am to 4 Pm. If you have a classic car or you just love classic cars, this show is for the whole family. Travis Weaver is a candidate for the State House of Representatives in the 93rd District. Mr. Weave joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Thursday to talk about why decided to run for office, his plans for education reform, the supply chain and, most pressingly, gas prices. Travis Weaver talked to WKEI about the way the gas tax is spent in Illinois and the tax relief possible with reforms to spending at the state capital. Travis Weaver is one of two candidates competing for the Republican nomination in the 93rd District.

In our latest profile of candidates for Congress in the 17th District in Illinois, we spoke with Angie Normoyle about her decision to run for Congress. Angie Normoyle tells WKEI that her background is in education and it's part of what made her want to run for Congress. We also discussed inflation, health care, Farming and several other topics that are on the minds of voters and how Angie Normoyle would address those topics if she were elected to replace Cheri Bustos in the 17t District.

Kewanee School District Superintendent Dr. Chris Sullens was our guest on Tuesday's Wake Up Tri-Counties. Dr. Sullens joined us to reflect on the class of 2022 and their graduation ceremony this past Sunday. With the of school year arriving there is progressing beginning and continuing on several long term projects in the district. And, Dr. Sullens covered each of the projects being worked on this summer in our conversation on Wake Up Tri-Counties.
