The Galva American Legion will play host to Crimestoppers for the biggest fundraiser of the year for Henry County Crimestoppers. There will be a bake sale going alongside the Chili Supper and all of the proceeds raised go to support the efforts of Henry County Crimestoppers. The rewards handed out by Crimestoppers are invaluable for getting information that can and has led to the arrests of criminals in Henry County. Anyone who submits a tip to Henry County Crimestoppers at 309-937-2324 will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000 dollars if their tip leads to an arrest. The Henry County Crimestoppers are also seeking new board members. Division St. To enter the site, take Prospect Street to Elliott Street and follow the cones west on Division Street. You must be a Kewanee resident to use the service, bring a utility bill with your address and form of identification. Once your identification has been verified, you will be directed to the dumpsters located in the lot. Your vehicle must be unloadable and be prepared to unload your own vehicle if there aren't enough volunteers at the time to help. David Silverstein leads the non-profit organization Broken Healthcare and he was our guest this week on Wake Up Tri-Counties. He says that a law passed under the Trump administration requires transparency on medical bills but only now, following a lawsuit in Colorado, are hospitals and healthcare organizations beginning to be held accountable to that law. Meanwhile, David points out that one area where costs have sky-rocketed is ambulance costs. Cities have been turning ambulance costs into a revenue stream nationwide leading to a remarkable increase in the cost of calling for an ambulance.
