January 31, 2022Wake Up TriCounties Michael Devine IRSThe Tax deadline in 2022 is three days later in 2022 due to a holiday only celebrated in Washington D.C. Michael Devine from the IRS tells WKEI that while April 15th is traditionally the tax filing deadline, it will be April 18th in 2022. This is because April 15th, 2022 falls on a day that Washington D.C, the District of Columbia, celebrates Emancipation Day. This means government offices will be closed on the 15th to honor the holiday and that includes the office of the Internal Revenue Service. January 27, 2022Wake Up Tri Counties RaeAnn Tucker Health Dept COVID UpdateOn Thursday, January 27th, the Henry and Stark County Health Department announced three new COVID-19 deaths. According to the information from the Health Department, a woman in her 70s, a man in his 50s, and a man in his 80s, are the latest to pass away from COVID-19. In all, 107 Henry County residents have died from COVID-19 since the pandemic began. RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department spoke to WKEI about the latest COVID-19 statistics on Wake Up Tri-Counties on Thursday. The total number of new confirmed positive or probable cases of COVID-19 was down from the record high recorded last week but it is still far to early to determine if this means we've reached the peak of infections from the Omicron variant of COVID-19. The Health Department is still urging residents to get vaccinated as the best protection against COVID-19 and the Health Department has walk-in times available to get vaccinated on Tuesdays and Thursdays during regular business hours....more12minPlay
