After two weekends of Julmarknad, Bishop Hill isn't slowing down when it comes to celebrating the season. This weekend it's Lucia Nights in Bishop Hill with events on Friday and Saturday, December 10th and 11th, in the evening in Bishop Hill. Music and food and Lucia Girls with their candles in their crowns will be everywhere in Bishop Hill while the shops and restaurants offer a warm place to enjoy the atmosphere of Swedish celebration. Kewanee Parks will be lit up this Sunday, December 5th as the annual Lighted Christmas Parade will lead revelers to Windmont Park where the bridge and path will be illuminated for the holidays. And as Windmont Park lights up, so will Northeast Park light up for folks to drive thru and enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas, many of which were crafted by the talented inmates at the Kewanee Life Skills Re-Entry Center. Andrew Dwyer, Kewanee Park District Director spoke to WKEI on Wednesday about lighting up the Parks for the holidays, vandals who tried to ruin the holiday fun at Northeast Park, and what is to come next year in Kewanee Parks.

The book, Kewanee 1854 to 2000, was actually published as part of a project with the Henry County Genealogical Society back in 2000. He's since then been asked by friends and colleagues to publish the book on its own. Now, Larry has done just that and you can buy a copy of Kewanee 1854 to 2000 today at B & B Printing, Country Morning Coffee and this Saturday you can buy the book and get it signed at the Kewanee Historical Society from 10 Am to 12 Noon.

Carter Oosterhouse loves Christmas and he especially loves Christmas light displays. Thus it is no surprise that Carter is having the time of his life in the 10th season of the hit ABC reality competition, 'The Great Christmas Light Fight.' The season finale of The Great Christmas Light Fight is tonight on ABC television and the show will be streaming as of tomorrow on Hulu if you can't watch live.
