Republican State Representative Dan Swanson won re-election to the Illinois Statehouse in District 74 on Tuesday turning back the challenge of Democrat candidate Christopher DeMink. Representative Swanson joined WKEI on Wednesday morning to thank voters to choosing re-elect him in the 74th District and to discuss the issues now on the agenda now that the campaign has ended. In the interview we talked about the struggles with COVID-19 and local businesses and the message sent to House Speaker Michael Madigan in Tuesday's election.

As of Midnight on Wednesday, COVID-19 mitigation is in place in Region 2. That means no indoor dining at restaurants, no indoor service at bars, and capacity limits on gatherings of up 25 people or 25% of capacity in a building. RaeAnn Tucker and Duane Stephens joined WKEI on People to People to discuss the new mitigation effort and how it will fall to Henry County if it comes to the need to enforce the new mitigation efforts. Duane Stephens says that the Health Department is eager to work with restaurants and bars and to offer guidance.

Popular MeTV horror movie host Svengoolie visited WZOE’s Wake Up Princeton recently. For over 40 years, Svengoolie has entertained horror fans, poking fun at the classic horror films that defined the genre.

Before and after commercial breaks, Svengoolie presents sketches, tells jokes, and performs song parody spoofs related to the films being aired. The show is a long-running local program in the Chicago area and in recent years expanded nationally, airing Saturday nights on MeTV.
