Reimagining Atlantis episodes

  • Cleito's Island had a grove of trees

This week we take a peak as to what is inside the red orichalcum walls. We find out what Poseidon's descendants did to the hot and cold springs. We compare Cleito's palace to Hesiod's Triton's house. We also learn about ancient Greek naming conventions as well as a possible unique way to procreate.

  • Oh Ship, The Royal City

This is the episode I have been working so hard to get to. I start explaining what The Royal City looked like.  Since the Royal City was a harbor city, it was full of ships and merchants from all over. The Atlanteans had giant walls and were master stone masons. Take this journey with Plato and me to the Royal City.

I go over the evolution of ships and the article can be found here.

  • In a single day and night of misfortune

In this episode you will learn one of my greatest fears as well as disliked foods. I begin with soil liquefaction and end with ancient Libya. Take this journey from Port Royal, Jamaica and end with Atlantic City, Atlantis. I used an article from Devastating Disasters.com and encourage you to read it all.

  • Sea Gods and their Goddesses

This episode goes over the difference between Oceanus, Poseidon, and Triton. Who holds the Tripod now? There is so much more to this story but I need to stay focused. Debate with me as to what Plato meant when he said “the island of Atlantis disappeared in the depths of the sea. For which reason the sea in those parts is impassable and impenetrable, because there is a shoal of mud in the way; and this was caused by the subsidence of the island.”

  • The Rise and Fall of Atlantis

In this episode, I go over the red orichalcum walls of Poseidon's temple. I share my draw to Atlantis as well as the terrible fate of the Atlanteans. I compare the story of Odysseus with odd similarities to the first commandment of Poseidon.

  • Poseidon, receiving for his lot the island of Atlantis.

This episode starts the introduction into Plato's works. Explained within are the different sources such as Homer, Hesiod, Diodorus, Herodotus,  Virgil, and Apollodorus. This starts with the contest between Poseidon and Athena and ends with baby Atlas. Listen to me butcher Greek words and try to make sense of insanity. You will be introduced to one of the first rulers of Athens and he is slither than imagined. My family has been making sure that I stay at a slower pace. I have a propensity to information vomit. Just from trying to make the first episode, I made five. There is so much more to come and I look forward to sharing it with you.

    Every Thursday at 9 PM.

  • Plato who?

This is the inaugural episode and my first ever podcast. This episode will be mostly introductions, a brief overview of Atlantis, terminology, and lore. This is for you to get a feel for me and enjoy a comforting barrage of information. I am open to suggestions and look forward to see if this is my calling.

About Reimagining Atlantis

From the publisher's feed

A look at the lost city of Atlantis through the eyes of an impassioned hobbyist. I have over 20 years of research into ancient history and mythology. I have also been unhealthily obsessed since I was young and have greedily absorbed any and all information that could even whisper Atlantis. The purpose of this podcast is to spark the imagination of people new to Atlantis and introduce a new concept to the veterans. I want to combine the myths with the current science and archeological evidence.
