The Theosophical Society, founded in the late 19th century, played a significant role in popularizing the concept in the Western world. Theosophists like Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and later writers such as Alice Bailey and Edgar Cayce contributed to the development and dissemination of the idea of the Akashic Records.
