It's normal for us to get so lost in the constant hustle and grind of daily life that we forget to take care of ourselves.
When our bodies are at a sub-optimal state, it seeps into every aspect of our lives.
But it doesn't have to be that way. Change Guide for Growth Claire Jones is here to share with us the seven areas that we should focus on to be productive and effective in any task we take.
Spoiler alert: It's all in our brains!
Tune in to this episode: Seven Areas of Your Life to Prioritize for Optimal Performance with Claire Jones.
Key points covered in this episode:
✔️ Connecting time is for our brain's need for social connection. It can't differentiate a broken heart from a broken leg. If you catch yourself doom-scrolling on social media, take a break. Call up a friend and meet! Your body will thank you for it.
✔️ Playtime releases happy hormones. It gives us a chance to experiment in non-threatening scenarios. Doodling and coloring can help us hone that imaginative and creative muscle and improve different skill sets.
✔️ Downtime brings innovation. Daydreaming allows us to tap into different areas of our brains simultaneously, causing new connections to form – extra helpful when we're dealing with complex problems. That's why all your best ideas are born in the shower.
✔️ Focus time leads to a flow state. This is where challenge and competence meet. Your brain thrives when you're completely engrossed in a single task. No more multi-tasking!
✔️ Time-in is meditation. This is when you use non-judgmental self-observation to achieve self-regulation. You can make better decisions because you've formed a solid foundation of awareness.
✔️ Physical time primes your brain for more learning. Incorporate any type of exercise within your week to achieve a clearer mind so you can seamlessly go through all your activities for the day.

My fiancé Patrick and I recently took a couple of weeks off to travel, enjoy one another, and see family and friends in different places.
This experience reminded me about how important it is to take time and reenergize your connection with your partner, or loved ones in general, and to step out of the automation of day-to-day life.
Today, I'll share with you my tips on how to go about a Relationship Reboot of your own!
Key points covered in this episode:
✔️ Be mindful yet spontaneous. Know how much rest you need. Go to that show you saw a flyer about. Eat at that restaurant that a friend recommended. Discover and enjoy things that light up your world.
✔️ Don't be a vacation martyr. Pay attention to how much rest and activity you and the other person like. Speak up about what you want to do at that moment. You can still have fun together while doing things on your own.
✔️ For a staycation, have a deliberate closing and reopening of your regular life. Signal your system that you're stepping out of your normal flow of life and into that special space. It can look like lighting a candle or shutting down your computer.
✔️ Create lists in advance. It can be a list of restaurants you've been meaning to try or something I call "a pleasure menu." Preparation can be so freeing. Make informed decisions that spark joy, and don't default to what's quick or easy because it's likely not what you really want.
✔️ Ultimately, a Relationship Reboot is nourishment. Allow yourself to drop in and keep in touch with a deeper octave of yourself. Remember what you loved about your loved ones before you became cogs in the wheel of life.

What is conscious love?
For relationship coach Angela N. Holton, it's an inward journey of finding purpose and fulfillment and healing our core wounds to avoid projection on our partners.
It all starts with looking at what hasn't worked in our past relationships and learning how to be more responsible to our loved ones.
Tune in to this episode: Conscious Love and Dating with Angela N. Holton.
Key points covered in this episode:
✔️ Don't blame dating apps. Show up with integrity. No more ghosting. More accountability. No more rude comments on people's appearance. More authenticity. More accountability.
✔️ Rejection is experience. It's nothing personal and is a way to get you one step closer to your person. Just lick your wounds, move on, and when the right one comes, they'll surely not pass you by.
✔️ Turn your suffering into art. Write in your journal. Do standup comedy. Sing songs. Pain and grief are energies – the more they get locked up, they build up and will explode in the ugliest ways. Let it go!
✔️ Become the mirror reflection of what you want. We all think about our ideal partners. So why not think about what they are looking for and embody it?
✔️ Find fulfillment in other aspects of your life. Dating isn't the end-all-be-all in life. Have you considered working out your career, hobbies, and connections with family and friends?
✔️ Dating and relationships are a journey within yourself. A whole heart isn't devoid of pain. It has integrated all its past mistakes and hurtful memories into its cracks and has learned to push aside its triggers and wounds.

When was the last time you had a fight with your partner? Was it a HUGE one where there's shouting and saying things you didn't mean? Or was it the usual squabble over a small thing that got you both nitpicky?
Couples who want to maintain a healthy and long relationship need reminding that each individual has very different styles of responding to stress. Experimenting with your partner will greatly benefit how you work and live together.
Tune in to this new episode: Relationships as Research with Marie-Elizabeth Mali and Patrick Price
Key points covered in this episode:
✔️ In our lives, we learn about relationships through our parents, friends, and the stories we see on TV or social media. We think we ought to know how to do a relationship, but no one ever makes the perfect one without learning and experimenting first.
✔️ Notice the other person's stress style if they haven't caught it yet, and offer support instead of judgment. Here's one big discovery my fiancé and I noticed and learned through our #RelationshipResearch: a particular thing happens when we both reach nerve-racking and trying days in our relationship.
When I go under stress, I start to move quicker and become more critical. I get nitpicky. When he gets stressed, he starts slowing down or just stops. As you can imagine, these two very different kinds of responses prime us to explode into a big fight.
✔️ When we understand each of our stress styles, we can nip unnecessary clashes in the bud, notice patterns if they haven't caught it yet, and offer support instead of judgment. This simple discovery can save many relationships from failing.
✔️ When we find love, we can't help but conjure dreamy imaginings of how our partner should be. We tend to return to the measure we've set of that ideal lover instead of wholly accepting that person right here.
✔️ The biggest thing in a relationship is the willingness to try new things. Many couples forget that:
Actively experimenting on the relationship allows partners to collaborate. They can learn how to do better and learn to adjust, understanding each of their weaknesses and relying on their strengths.
✔️ Become partners in research and love. Have you pondered on approaching your romantic relationship as research? It will benefit you and your partner more than you'll ever know. Setting research containers within the relationship fosters curiosity and keeps you on the growing edge of what's happening between you.
✔️ Be intentional in helping each other grow and gain more skill in an area of both your lives where the default is to avoid, push back or to reject yourself or the other person.

In relationships, compromise involves holding back your thoughts and desires to make your partner comfortable.
But if you want it to go from "good" to "great," you have to talk about everything – even the difficult parts – and you do it in a way to make it easier for your partner to hear it.
The Intimacy Doctor Alexandra Stockwell wants you to experience adventure and a whole new level of depth in your relationships as she shares her tips for creating uncompromising intimacy.
Tune in to this episode: Uncompromising Intimacy with Dr. Alexandra Stockwell.
Key points covered in this episode:
✔️ Let go of perfectionism. You don't need to amputate parts of yourself. You don't have to keep the peace by being silent.
✔️ Ask open-ended questions. What we believe to be true might not be what it seems – especially when you hear what your partner has to say. The answer may sting at first, but this level of transparency is what deepens the connection in your relationship.
✔️ Know when you're self-silencing. This small change in awareness can be a stepping stone to more honest interactions that expand your confidence in asking questions.
✔️ Cultivate curiosity in your relationship. Uncompromising intimacy builds a fire and a passion to pay attention to each others' ideas and feelings.
✔️ Every moment can either bring you closer or further apart. Cultivate passion and open-heartedness daily by openly communicating with your partner. Let everyday interactions feed into your sensual and erotic experiences.
✔️ Effective storytelling puts you in rooms you aren't in yet. When people know what you do and what you're all about, it comes naturally for them to recommend you to others.

Have you ever realized that your relationship is actually like a car?
Maybe it's working well and just needs detailing...
Or it could need a little tune-up like the clutch is sticking...
Or does it need repair because something's actually not working...
Or... MAYBE it's totally broken down and needs a tow to the shop?
How do you know?
Tune in to this episode: Relationship as a Vehicle — What Kind of Driver Are You?
Key points covered in this episode:
✔️ The over-detailer. Just like how they keep their car super pristine, they constantly obsess over little things like their partner looking at them funny or their tone sounding different – looking for wrongs. Overidentifying with one's image can lead to this nitpicky attitude.
✔️ The most balanced. They keep their car clean, do checkups but don't fixate, and change the oil and tires, so nothing breaks. Regular maintenance helps relationships run better over time. This is the best stage for coaching.
✔️ The tune-up. This person waits until the warning lights come on before they take action. They wait for things to feel flat before they decide to reconnect or choose to address the issue.
✔️ The repair person. They wait for something to actually break before moving. Red flags may appear, but they let them go in the moment and react only when things turn serious. At this point, you're in counseling.
✔️ The total breakdown. Completely ignoring all the signs causes the relationship to seize. They've missed the opportunities. It's past the point of counseling and has evolved into mediation, splitting assets, and separating for good.

All relationships take work, whether in our professional or personal lives. For over two decades of research and experience, Dr. Kristen Donnelly shares that empathy is key to cultivating connection and understanding the relationships in our homes and workplaces.
For years, we've been trying to embrace diversity as a goal in our organizations, but we're still far from achieving that goal. If we understand that there's beauty and power in inclusivity, we'll take the necessary and intentional steps to get to know each other as diverse humans trying to shape a better world.
Join me in this insightful episode: The Alchemy of Empathy with Dr. Kristen Donnelly
Key points covered in this episode:
✔️ We've been sold the lie that "diversity" only means people coming from all colors and races. Donnelly teaches that embracing diversity in our workplaces and homes means accepting all facets of our humanity and understanding people beneath stereotypes.
✔️ Empathy in businesses. Research shows that the more diverse organizations are, the more financially successful, innovative, stable, and sustainable they become. But why aren't more companies successfully doing it? Donnelly shares that the answer is that many leaders have a hard time giving up power.
✔️ Empathy is the key to inclusivity, which is what we really want. Inclusivity is the term and idea that everybody gets to show up to any conversation, any relationship, any job on their emotional terms and they're never forced only to bring one perspective. They show up on their terms about who they are as a whole human. It will take hard work to get us there. But the first step is having the curiosity to ask questions, getting to know each other, and having the empathy to understand beneath the tolerant stereotypes.
✔️ Empathy in romantic relationships. The people we love most are often the ones to whom we extend the least amount of grace. So how do we apply empathy in our relationships? How do we cultivate more curiosity and spaciousness within our intimate relationships, which is where we tend to get the tightest?
✔️ When two persons come together, their Union creates a third body. This Union lives and breathes according to the love and attention that both people put into it. How do you take care of your Union?
✔️ Overcoming compassion fatigue. Donnelly reveals that the more you practice empathy, the more calming it becomes. Consistently choosing curiosity and understanding can decrease your anxiety. You'll learn that you have no control over anything but yourself and are freed to focus on things you can do that can make a difference.
Kristen Donnelly (MSW, M.Div, PhD) is a four-time TEDx speaker, international empathy educator, and researcher with two decades of experience in helping people understand the beauty in difference, and the power of inclusivity. She is one of The Good Doctors of Abbey Research, COO of their parent company, and an unapologetic nerd for stories of change. Kristen lives outside of Philadelphia with her husband, where they are surrounded by piles of books and several video game consoles.

My partner Patrick and I were recently interviewed on a relationship podcast.
On the show, he highlights three questions that he asks himself whenever we get into conflict.
And I was so impressed with how he laid them out that I felt like it would be great to share them with you today – so you too can have better conflicts that bring you and your partner closer.
Tune in to this episode: A Quick Way To Navigate Conflict.
Key points covered in this episode:
✔️ The relationship is its own entity. The union between you and your partner is a separate being. It has its own existence calling for your attention and care.
✔️ Conflicts are caused by a suppressed issue. Conflicts aren't ignited by what set off the fight. They're usually started by something swept under the rug, piling up over time, erupting with the proper stimulus.
✔️ "What do I need?" Step away from the conflict for a moment. Settle yourself before addressing it. Get a bite to eat. Take a nap. Take a walk. Whatever it takes to resource yourself more fully. Then, you can return to the issue with a more open heart.
✔️ "What does the relationship need?" Pay attention to what it's calling for. It may be your way, their way, or something completely different. Whatever it may be – it should be the way that benefits your connection.
✔️ "What does my partner need?" But don't just carelessly throw the question. The tone matters most. Ask it from a place of curiosity, not condemnation.

Sixty-seven percent of information is retained when told through a story.
This is why expert sales consultant and advisor Stephen Steers wants you to share your true experiences to improve your relationships, career, and dating endeavors.
So how do you choose the best ones to tell? Should you be detailed or hold back some information? What are the pros and cons? Stephen Steers shares his advice to get you to where you want to be.
Tune in to this episode: How to Build Deep Relationships with Your Story with Stephen Steers.
Key points covered in this episode:
✔️ Your story should help others tell theirs better. You create stronger bonds when others can relate to your struggles and successes, and it gives them room to open up about their lives, too.
✔️ Go beyond the checklist. Oftentimes, we enter the dating world only with our standards in mind. But have you given your date the space to tell their story? Have you thought about whether you check their boxes too?
✔️ Read the room. Would your traumatic or heavy experience inspire or scare off your listeners? How can you deploy your story in the right context? Would they benefit from this story? Consider these things before starting your, "Once upon a time…"
✔️ There are three types of stories you can tell: the vision, the mission, and the milestones. Then, calibrate your stories to touch the hearts and leave a lasting impact on your audience.
✔️ Build rapport with yourself. Your life's ups and downs only have one constant: YOU. Admitting that your current situation isn't working out is a hard pill to swallow. But once you take that initiative to change your life, you'll thank yourself.
✔️ Effective storytelling puts you in rooms you aren't in yet. When people know what you do and what you're all about, it comes naturally for them to recommend you to others.

Hi, I'm Stephen, They don't teach you sales in school. They don't teach you how to be confident. They don't teach you how to be out in the world and how to make a way for yourself. But that's what I'm here for. I've consulted, advised, and led workshops for more than 500 companies from 25 countries. I've learned that effective sales is about listening and connecting through stories. The better you talk, the more money you make and I'm here to show you how.

Glasses come in different lenses, each with a purpose – from blue-light-blocking to reading to distance.
We also wear lenses through which we see our relationships. Some of us may put on lenses of abandonment. Others of fear or betrayal.
Whichever lens we choose, the lens through which we see our relationships tends to determine what happens in them.
So, which lens do you want to put on?
Tune in to this episode: Seeing Clearly In Your Relationships.
Key points covered in this episode:
✔️ Be clear about your default lenses. We wear default lenses because of our upbringing and what's been ingrained in our nervous systems. Do your lenses serve you? You have the choice to change them.
✔️ Put on the lens of noticing the good. Through this lens, you can appreciate what's working well in your relationship. You'll see green flags you can be grateful for.
✔️ Grow your capacity to wear multiple lenses. A client was experiencing a difficult situation with a loved one. She was able to find another way to see the situation that was more life-affirming and had more possibility for growth in it. There's always an opening available for change.
✔️ Changing lenses requires access to new lenses. Most of us get so wedded to a singular point of view through which we look at our relationships. Try on a new pair of lenses to see something new about your relationship… but only if you're willing.
