  • Relationships and Money with Leisa Peterson

Most partnerships sail smoothly in the aspects of love and building a healthy family. However, the topic of money has become taboo, striking an unhealed wound on both parties.

Together with coach, author, and business strategist Leisa Peterson, we dissect our core beliefs in money management, the attraction to our "financial opposite", and the right approach in initiating this tricky subject.

Tune in to this episode: Relationships and Money with Leisa Peterson.

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ Cultivate mindful and intentional relationships with money. Leisa Peterson aims to discover the root cause of this disconnection with money and open people's eyes to the cycle of playing off of your partner's financial fears.

✔️ Money habits are learned. Remember how your parents handled money? You may have unconsciously picked up their habits, or intentionally done the opposite after seeing the consequences.

✔️ Establish safety in money conversations. Set some ground rules to maintain comfort in your dialogue. Go through these guide questions:

    • "What does money mean to you?"
    • "How does money make you feel?"
    • "What makes you feel good about having more money?"
    • "What worries you about not having enough money?"

Listen deeply. Compare notes. And see your partner through the lens of their money story.

✔️ Awareness is everything. Recognizing the sources of fears and tendencies slowly breaks down the problematic parts of your relationship. And those issues you thought would never be resolved are straightened out.

✔️ Your commitment should be stronger than the noise. Instead of Googling for solutions, work with an expert to finally escape the limbo. Also, team up with your partner in riding the waves of conflict and disagreement.

✔️ Be curious enough to explore newfound wisdom with your partner. As you've been enlightened, your partner may not be on the same wavelength. Don't clobber them with information. Approach discussions like gift-giving.

Leisa Peterson, CFP® is on a mission to help 1,000,000 people elevate their financial consciousness. As a money coach, business consultant, and spiritual teacher, Leisa hosts the Mindful Millionaire podcast as well as virtual workshops and deep-dive retreats. Her masterful blend of sound financial strategy and mindfulness training helps people break free of patterns of lack, scarcity, and money fears, allowing them to finally lead the rewarding, fulfilling, and abundant lives they most desire.

Leisa has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, FastCompany, Forbes, The Week, Huffington Post, and has been featured on many podcasts and radio shows. Prior to starting WealthClinic®, LLC, Leisa worked with some of the largest financial and business services companies in the world including Wells Fargo, State Farm Insurance, UNUM Life Insurance, New York Life, Federal Express, Pitney Bowes, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors.

  • Owning Your Power in Your Relationships

Owning your power isn't so much about your words or actions. It's also not about putting yourself above others.

    It's about your choices.

It's about choosing day to day and moment by moment to make decisions that are aligned with who you want to be and how you want to show up.

Knowing how to make an aligned choice helps you stay true to your authentic self and avoid the worst arguments.

Tune in to this episode: Owning Your Power in Your Relationships.

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ Relationships are like a roller coaster filled with ups and downs. It's impossible to control every event but you can adjust your responses to the situation. In times of conflict and difficulty, ask yourself:

    • "What quality will this help me develop?"
    • "How could I benefit from this, even if it's terrible?"

These are learning opportunities and a chance for you to strengthen your ability to make powerful choices in difficult circumstances.

✔️ Know when to flee. Are you in an unhealthy, toxic, or abusive relationship? Get to safety and seek appropriate support. In an adverse situation, know when to ask for help.

✔️ Forgive your past self. Let go of shame and move forward with what you know now. Carrying self-blame only locks in your old patterns. Show gratitude for the gift of choice and informed decision-making.

✔️ Your choices are more powerful than your circumstances. Sometimes, we blame our current situation for our awful decisions. But once we acknowledge our power, intelligence, and autonomy, no matter what's happening around us, we can unlock the secret to writing our own happy endings.

✔️ Tending to our nervous system is an important choice. Everything that happens before, during, and after a conflict is a choice. Letting your emotions ruin your whole day, not taking a break, keeping quiet when your heart wants to speak up - all of these things are up to you.

✔️ Find a small decision that aligns you with yourself. Is it stopping yourself from overeating? Catching your tongue before throwing out an insult? Deciding to walk outdoors to get some sunlight and fresh air? You have the capacity to show up differently in the world.

  • Opposites Attract with Michelle Nedelec

Expert consultant and author Michelle Nedelec inspires people not only with her digital marketing know-how but also her experience in navigating through "polarizing" relationships.

Her partner of 22 years is a techie introvert while she's a creative adventurer. They're complete opposites but Michelle says that their partnership gives her an opportunity to learn and improve every day.

Tune in to this episode: Opposites Attract with Michelle Nedelec

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ We choose our total opposites because of our desire for personal development. Michelle Nedelec points out that we select partners that tick us off in that sweet spot - that individual who can reveal to us the parts of ourselves to work on and allow us the space to mature.

✔️ Date someone who challenges you. Why did Michelle Nedelec choose her current partner? She yearned for a challenge, someone intelligent who can point out where she needs to grow.

✔️ Get off of the argument elevator. Instead of stacking up the frustration until the 23rd floor, separate yourselves. Take a time-out to self-reflect. Sometimes, it's a you-problem that you can't see until you recenter yourself.

✔️ Contribute to the world in your own special way. Michelle Nedelec's book, Business Ownership Mindset: The Ultimate Guide to Freedom teaches aspiring entrepreneurs to build companies that run without their effort.

✔️ Resetting yourself helps you respond and return with curiosity. Walk away for a while and recenter. You might realize that your buttons were pushed because you allowed yourself to be affected. You can then come back with fresh eyes and reconnect.

✔️ Find what enamored you about your partner and cherish it. The way they leave their used cups on the table, their inability to color-coordinate their clothes, or their off-key singing - whatever it may be, appreciate their quirks and remember to stay curious.

Michelle Nedelec has over 20 years of experience in Executive Coaching, working with clients ranging from 8 figures to solopreneurs. Michelle runs the creative side of her Done For You services helping entrepreneurs set up and maintain their digital marketing through her company, Awareness Strategies at AwarenessStrategies.com. She also draws on her experience from running her clinic Success Therapy.

  • Do Your P.A.R.T for More Connection

    Picture this:

You and your partner are having fun. Suddenly, they say or do something that hits an old wound inside you. You get overwhelmed by emotion, and you either blurt out the nastiest things or immediately walk out.

And that right there is when wreckage happens in relationships.

So, how can we improve the situation?

Use my proprietary four-step P.A.R.T. process: Pause, Ask, Request or Reframe, and Thank.

Tune into this episode: Do Your P.A.R.T for More Connection

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ When you find yourself flooded with emotion in a conflict, pause. As our nervous system goes into fight-or-flight, the impulse to eviscerate the other with hurtful words comes from our "lizard brain" — our ancestral response to protect ourselves from danger. You have the power to bring yourself back to your conscious mind. Be the bigger person in the situation.

✔️ Make a request for support. If the other did something that triggered you, make a clear request. First, say how their action made you feel. Then, if a change is needed, request what you want done differently, otherwise reframe your own thinking.

✔️ Show gratitude for the situation. Appreciate yourself for mustering the courage to pause, reground, and approach the situation in a positive light. Don't forget to thank your partner for their helpful response as well.

✔️ A time-out is for you to settle and tend to yourself. Ditch your revenge plan to get the upper hand. Do what you need to do to get back to your body and your center : journal, cry your heart out, scream into a pillow, sing your favorite song. Whatever it is, get yourself back to a more centered place.

✔️ Reframe your thinking. Recognize the action that triggered your emotions. At first, you may think it's something that the other party should do differently. But sometimes, it can be a personal wound that only you can work on.

✔️ A deeper connection requires sharing childhood wounds. Cultivate a deep-rooted bond with your partner by allowing yourself to be vulnerable. Open up to each other about your hopes, fears, delights, and anxieties. Let them see and feel you. Don't be afraid to reveal the most tender parts of yourself. This can lead you in working together to have room for each other's feelings.

  • How Your DNA and Epigenetics Impact Your Relationships with Lisa Thomas
I've been working with Lisa Thomas as my energy healer for over a year. And she's amazing.

As a transformational leader, she's made a big difference in my life as she empowers people to live authentically and in alignment with their soul's purpose.

In this rare opportunity to access her brilliance, we unpack our collective past and inherited patterns and how epigenetics play in our ability to form flourishing connections.

Tune in to this episode: How Your DNA and Epigenetics Impact Your Relationships with Lisa Thomas

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ Recognize destructive patterns. Lisa Thomas explains the parenting styles exposed to us in our childhoods can greatly influence our decision-making in our adult relationships. We may unconsciously model a controlling father or an unaffectionate mother, but we have the power and capacity to hold ourselves accountable.

✔️ Make space for mistakes. Breaking your back to please a partner can be a form of emotional manipulation. Dropping an "I love you" in the middle of an argument seems harmless from the outside, but it can actually be you policing your partner's intense feelings and slapping a band-aid on a deep wound.

✔️ Evaluate your next relationship. Moving from one failed relationship to another? Your new date may be a better version of your ex, but it could be the same bad habits in a prettier package.

✔️ It's your divine right to be in a harmonious relationship. After a string of broken relationships, we can develop a habit of self-blame and guilt. Remember, you're human, and life is full of change. Remember, you're human, and life is full of change. Forgive yourself for your past, and speak out when your partner doesn't fulfill your needs or negatively impacts you.

✔️ Improving your relationship begins with you. One hurdle in the relationship doesn't call for an immediate breakup. With the knowledge that your partner's flaws may be a result of their upbringing, step up and do little things to enhance your bond.

✔️ Fear creates a doomed relationship. Learning to let go of these worries is a long process, especially if our life experiences repeatedly showed us the worst. However, everybody can be empowered with their words. Say "no" to that fearful voice in your head. You're in charge.

Lisa Thomas is a transformational leader, intuitive, and master energy healer who is dedicated to helping people reach their next level of success in business, mindset, and personal relationships, by breaking cycles of struggle, upper limiting beliefs, and negative patterns. She specializes in releasing inherited emotional DNA, such as fear of success, fear of failure, anxiety, procrastination, false money beliefs, and relationship drama. Lisa believes everyone deserves to be seen, known, and heard for who they are. Her expertise empowers people to live authentically and in alignment with their Soul's purpose.

  • Relationships for Visionaries

If you're someone who gets fired up about serving people and creating ways to change the world for the better, you're a visionary.

While you're out there giving your all to your projects and goals, you may also desire to have a deeply loving and connected relationship. But sometimes, it's extremely difficult to manage having both.

I'm here to share with you my favorite tips to make it easier and function better as a visionary exploring the world of relationships through transitioning better between the two spaces.

Tune in to this episode: Relationships for Visionaries.

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ You don't have to handle this alone. Visionaries tend to have moments of isolation when they're innovating and immersing themselves in their creative process. You can work together as a team on how each of you can stay true to your individual identities while maintaining your intimate bond.

✔️ Create your own transitioning process. With some trial-and-error, you can get clear on which transition activities work best to open your energy and prepare you to reconnect with your loved ones — be it a guided meditation, taking a nap, or dancing to your favorite song.

✔️ Communicate with honesty and love. If the visionary partner is stuck in frustration, invite them into a conversation about how to support each other in improving the transition out of creative space and into relational space.

✔️ Maintain a high level of creativity and inspiration. Rest and love are fuel for visionaries. But when they're occupied in their craft, they forget to fully unplug. Make sure to tend to your relationship to fill up and avoid creative burnout and conflict.

✔️ Be deliberate about your transitions. Visionaries may be unaware that they need to transition. Together, find ways to implement the process effectively and prioritize it. Something as simple as taking a walk can prevent petty quarrels and saying the wrong things out of irritation.

✔️ Transitions create receptiveness and availability. Your body may be in the same room as your loved ones, but is your mind there? Handling transitions better teaches us to be responsible and present partners. It gives us the maturity to say, "I'll get back to you in 10 minutes when I'm in a better headspace."

  • How To Establish an Abundant Relationship with Money with Daniel Mangena
Our guest for today's episode changed my life when he introduced us to our realtor in Mexico who helped us buy our beautiful home!

I've met Daniel Mangena through my speaker coach, and since then, we've become friends. I'm excited to have him share his thoughts and advice on alignment, activating money DNA, and becoming a wealth magnet.

Tune in to this episode: How To Establish an Abundant Relationship with Money with Daniel Mangena

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ Abundance is a natural state. Just like the ocean's vastness, abundance is an inherent state of being manifested in all living creatures and Earth's resources. Once we acknowledge that it's always inside us, the constant chase can stop and our desires can start to flow more quickly into our lives.

✔️ Stop meditating. Daniel Mangena explains the importance of alignment and how moving with intention turns on your money DNA, the quality that attracts wealth into your everyday life. Release those limiting beliefs and reach your higher self.

✔️ Accept without fear. When you experience an influx of wealth, accept and cherish it. Let go of anxious thoughts around it. You deserve the best in the world.

✔️ Push your edge, not your buttons. We sometimes forget that perfection is impossible, as it goes against the intricacies and nuances of the human experience. You're never going to get it right every time, or even every day. And as a human, that's OK.

✔️ Leverage your money DNA to reach your desires. Finding out your love language and implementing it for yourself through small, daily gestures — be it exercise or wearing new perfume — switches on your money DNA, putting you at a high vibrational frequency as you work.

✔️ Be responsible in how you respond to external things. What are some of your partner's quirks that you just can't stand? Their short temper or messiness may drive you nuts, but these habits may have been formed in their childhood and encoded in their subconscious, which makes it hard for them to stop doing them.

Daniel Mangena is an International Speaker, Best-Selling Author, Broadcaster, and Coach. He is best known for his highly successful Micro2Millions program, being the author of Stepping Beyond Intention and his Do it With Dan and Beyond Success podcasts. He is completely self-made and has spent decades perfecting his world-class coaching methodology.

His mission statement: "To spearhead an evolutionary uplift in universal consciousness, by awakening people to the importance of their unique role and enabling them to manifest their dream life."

  • The Key to Keeping Your Relationships Strong During Hard Times

Today, I'll be talking about a concept that I've spoken about in my weekly live video, and I want to unpack it a bit more here.

Even on ordinary days, when life is going well, I recommend applying slow practice and flow practice with your partner. I'll be sharing with you ways how to implement these practices in your daily life and why they matter - especially when times get tough.

Tune in to this episode: The Key to Keeping Your Relationships Strong During Hard Times.

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ Do slow practice with yourself. It's impossible to pour from an empty cup. Take some me-time and do slow practice with yourself - meditate, get enough good sleep, eat cleanly, journal, read, move your body - not because you have to, but because it makes you feel good. And you feeling good makes everyone around you feel better.

✔️ What's a way to stitch your relationship together in tough times? Touching. Lots of it. Something simple as a warm hug while cooking in the kitchen or a quick kiss before leaving for work can make a huge difference. Keeping the physical connection alive between you guarantees that you and your partner stay on the same team.

✔️ Slow practice can also prepare us for the worst. It's easy to get stressed during high-pressure situations like travel planning, natural disasters, and sickness. To avoid this, work out in advance who's going to handle what.

✔️ Flow practice kicks in when you're in high gear. Being in a relationship isn't always rainbows and butterflies. The importance of being on the same team holds true when you and your partner encounter difficult situations, like moving out in a week, suddenly falling ill, or traveling together for the first time. No matter how stressful life gets, you and your partner can efficiently flow through it together when you've been consistent with slow practice.

✔️ Acknowledge blow-ups and disagreements and move on. The key is to face stuff head-on, clean it up, and let it go. When you're in a time where flow practice is required, that's OK. Don't force yourself to return to slow practice, as long as you do your best to slow down and recover between intense peak moments.

✔️ Anchor yourself in appreciation for the good moments. Show appreciation for the little things that you get to do in your life - like sipping a hot cup of coffee, watching the sunset, or taking a walk - and watch your life improve.

  • Sacred Partnership with Alex and Allyson Grey

Since meeting them for the first time at a conference, I've been inspired and blown away by Alex and Allyson Grey, the co-founders of the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM).

That time was shortly after my father died, and the Greys immersed me in the most enlightening conversation about death.

After that, a friendship was born.

Having been closely involved in a small group that helped CoSM come to fruition, I've witnessed the depths of the creative partnership that Alex and Allyson possess.

I wanted to bring them as an example of what's possible and what goes on behind the scenes in a relationship of creative life partners.

Tune in to this episode: Sacred Partnership with Alex and Allyson Grey

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ See through your partner's eyes. For 46 years, Alex and Allyson Grey have established the habit of working together in one studio. They have made it a point to collaborate and stay involved, even while pursuing their personal artistic endeavors. They believe that the process of creative and performative partnership allows couples to get insights into one's beloved's thoughts and preferences.

✔️ Commitment is a transformative engine. It's the override program for couples seeking to endure the test of time while improving for the better. Self-awareness and reflection of one's past can lead you and your partner on a path to a healthier and deeper connection.

✔️ The number of years you've dedicated to a relationship holds no water unless you strive for self-discovery. Every day you spend with your partner, continue to seek fresh methods in accessing their consciousness to learn more about them. Marie-Elizabeth Mali dissects the significance of visionary culture in the post-pandemic world.

✔️ Our partner is our sacred mirror. As humans, we dislike our flaws being pointed out, and prefer hearing about our positive characteristics. For change and growth to occur, we should recognize the dreadful parts of ourselves. Having a partner that reflects both our beauty and shortcomings helps us become better people, even if it's uncomfortable.

✔️ Have an aspect of your relationship that benefits the world. Co-founding the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors was a divine experience in Alex and Allyson Grey's relationship. They have deliberately chosen to create a place for religious gathering as an eternal service to their community – a meaningful contribution that they can leave behind for generations.

✔️ Work in connection with your creative spirit. Religion ties us back to the divine and the core of our being. Whether you're an artist or someone wishing to play a positive part in this world, everyone is a medium of transmission of imaginative flow. When we make life-changing decisions, the universe or any other higher being we believe in expands and makes it possible for us.

The art of Alex Grey represents realms of visionary consciousness, interweaving the anatomy of body and soul. In Grey's paintings, the light of spirit illuminates the core of each being, depicting psychedelic mystical experiences with artwork that has touched and inspired millions. Alex has authored five books, including three monographs, had countless exhibitions, and extensive reproductions and articles about his artwork. His speaking appearances, including a popular TED talk and his work with the rock band TOOL on three albums, including stage sets, animations, and Grammy award-winning album art have made Alex Grey a renowned figure in contemporary art.

Allyson Grey is a painter and social sculptor. Allyson's paintings address an essentialized world view, the artist's interpretation of the realms of Chaos, Order, and Secret Writing. Chaos symbolizes the material world, a field of colored light made of particles and waves, cells and systems. Order represents the interconnected realm of pure spirit, a mandala of energy and light. Secret Writing scribes the untranslatable realm of creative expression. Educated at Tufts University (MFA), Allyson has long been an art educator, editor, art events creator, muse to artists, and the creative and life partner of the artist, Alex Grey since meeting in art school (1975).

Together, the Greys co-founded the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, CoSM, a spiritual creative retreat center outside of New York City.

  • How to Keep Growing in Your Relationship with Marie-Elizabeth Mali

There are parallels between growing a relationship and a business.

The way Sandra Yancey, CEO of eWomenNetwork, approaches business projects is applicable for your relationship - you want to plan, do and review big events.

It takes some patience and a whole lot of listening. But it's going to be so worth it. In a matter of time, you'll be amazed at how much your relationship will flourish.

Tune in to this episode: How to Keep Growing in Your Relationship with Marie-Elizabeth Mali.

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ It's never too late to learn something new about your partner. Doing a review after an important date allows you to understand each other's preferences even more deeply - and strengthens the team you have built.

✔️ Whether it's after a vacation or Valentines' Day, asking the right questions can take you and your partner's experience to a whole new level. Got the table you wanted? Hated rushing out the door? Identify the best and worst parts of your plan so that each date becomes even better than the last one.

✔️ Take the time to articulate your preferences. Romantic dates can be hit or a miss. But with thorough planning and reviewing, you and your partner will discover each other's likes and dislikes. Experience the perfect date every single time.

✔️ Sometimes, it's the little things that matter the most. A hug, a question, or just being there can be a big deal to your partner. These are gestures we naturally do when we reach a deeper level of familiarity.

✔️ All improvements start with awareness. In just a 4-minute assessment, you'll be able to discover and focus your efforts on the things that matter in your relationship. Take the assessment here: https://relationshipalchemyassessment.com.
