– AndyIn a topsy-turvy world, it’s good to know that Raiders of the Lost Ark exists. We are not shy in our praise of this movie, despite its inherent silliness and gaping plot holes and such. If ever there was a film that was greater than the sum of its parts, it’s this one. Come along as we reveal our recasting winners, the next film, and how highly we rated this one.
From out of the deep in the darkest jungles of South America, nimbly avoiding amazingly crafted ancient architectural traps, covered in cobwebs, emerges the first half of our episode on Raiders of the Lost Ark! Oh, what fun we had. We check off another iconic character from our recasting list (COUGH*melty-face Nazi*COUGH) and generally talk about how much we adore this silly little film. And we haven’t even gotten to part two yet!
Any reference to real events and persons living or dead is not accidental. It is deliberate.
The Irishman. Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood. Little Women. The Irishman. Parasite. The Irishman. Avengers: Endgame. The Irishman. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The Irishman. Joker. The Irishman. JoJo Rabbit. The Irishman. Marriage Story. The Irishman. 1917. The Irishman.
Despite all the movies released in 2019, only a select few have the honor of being nominated for an Academy Award. And of those, even fewer are nominated for multiple awards. And then there’s The Irishman.Time to test your wits against our…um…wits and see who is the best guesser. Do you have the inside scoop? Are you secretly a member of the Academy? PROVE IT.

‘Tis that time o’ the year, dear friends, when we remember some of our favorite thespians that have shuffled off this mortal coil in the past year. As always, there are far more than we have time to discuss. Tell us who you think we should have eulogized. Hold your dearest DVDs close, fair listener.

We check off another genre from our remaking bucket list: French-Algerian political crime drama! Behold, part one of our episode on Z, an Academy Award-winning film telling a fictionalized version of an assassination and political cover-up. Come along for the ride in our three-wheeled pick-up!
As a physical education major, let me explain German Expressionism to you…
In part 2 of our discussion of Metropolis, things go off the rails quickly and often. Once again, the curse of this movie has reduced us to 80% capacity, but our B- strength is still enough for an A+ performance. OK, maybe an A-.
We generally really liked this movie, and it shows in our ratings. There’s so much to take in with huge sets, hundreds of cast members, bombastic scores, and emoting! So much emoting! Come along with us as we wrap up our discussion of this titan of the Silent Film era.
We step into the way way back machine and recast what some call the first true science fiction movie, Fritz Lang’s 1927 release of Metropolis. Though we operated at 80% capacity this time, we came at you with 100% tenacity and 1000% genius with our character picks (though Andy’s were criminally underrepresented due to his…lack of representation).
Come along with us as we dive into the dystopian world of Metropolis!
