When we think of what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur, we might think of innovation, determination and ability to adapt to change. It should come at no surprise then that there has and continues to be a growing wealth of talent in disabled entrepreneurs – but how can we do better to harness this largely untapped talentpool?
In this episode we speak with advocate and founder Charli Skinner, who’s on a mission to empower young adults who are chronically ill and disabled to design a radically inclusive world around us.
Charli shares her experience of acquiring a brain injury and how this exposed the stark reality of inaccessible workplaces, the hidden costs of disability and has taught her how we can do better to tap into the potential of disabled entrepreneurs.

Did you know that more than 1 billion people globally are living with some form of disability, and that 80% of this population live in low- and middle-income countries? And that only 1 in 10 of those have access to the assistive technology they need?
In the following episode we speak with Bernard Chiira, Founder of Africa’s 1st Assistive Technology Accelerator based in Nairobi, Kenya, to talk about his life growing up with scoliosis and his mission to raise the business profile of investing in assistive tech Startups in Africa.
We discuss the accessibility, equity and affordability of assistive technology in Africa and how regulation must meet the needs of innovation in order to get the technology into the hands of those who need it most.

Do you consider the disability community when thinking about climate change? Professor Sébastien Jodoin, director of the disability inclusive climate action research programme, joins us in this episode to discuss how his experience with disability in combination with his academic and legal careers has motivated him to study the relationship between climate change and disability.
As we look to the future and a truly innovative, accessible, and inclusive strategy to tackling climate change from both a tech and policy perspective, we examine why people with disabilities aren't discussed in Climate Change justice conversations and why this needs to change.
