Every follower of Jesus lives in and endures a tension. We serve a glorious king, Jesus. But we live in a fallen world. So we feel the tug of the world toward cynicism, vengeance or even withdrawal. But we also feel the tug of the kingdom, a yearning for the presence of God. This Sunday, we continue our current series, Putting On Christ, as we wrap our hearts around what it means to grow into the kind of people who are not shaken, people who are firmly planted in God.

Jesus said that those who believe in him would have rivers of living water flowing out of them. We want this...badly. We don't want more of the same. We want Jesus. All of him. We want his word. His life. His presence. We want to know what it is to be so full of Jesus' life that our hearts burst with living water!

Peter was the leader of the twelve disciples. He was told by Jesus that he would be the rock on whom the church would be built. He also experienced colossal failure. We will take the morning to see the fullness of Peter's time with Jesus and learn how to lay down our own perfectionism and failure.
