Renting's become more expensive than ever - and rental properties are even harder to find.

That's according to TradeMe's latest Rental Prince Index, which says the national median rent climbed $45 in February.

The national median rent is now $575 - topped by Porirua with the highest rent at a whopping $700 per week.
