Kevin De Young has reshared an article he wrote that will be relevant on a very certain kind of Christmas. He askes Pastors not to cancel church on Christmas. We react. Go to church on Christmas.

Welcome back to Winsome Winter. A time of year to let the healing begin. We discuss a very presbyterian question this week. Why do Teaching Elders (Pastors) seem to be more liberal than Ruling Elders (Lay Elders).

We are joined by Andrew Smyth of the Once For All Delivered Podcast to discuss this conundrum. We stay winsome for sure though.

The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill put out quite a number of special episode which we are reviewing for our Patrons. This episode we review CT Reports On Itself. Our patrons thought it should go on the main feed.

Matt is on full tilt in reviewing this one. We tackle what this kind of report should color their reporting on Mark Driscoll. No one leaves unscathed. So it is good news that winsome winter starts next week.

Restless produces its final episode reacting to The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill. We like CT have spent the last year talking about what happened at Mars Hill. We close the book on the podcast by discussing some reactions to the podcast and listen to one from the man, himself Mark Driscoll.

We discuss listener feedback and material from 3 articles:

This week we discuss the call to supplement our faith with self control- which is the God given ability to regulate our emotions and desires to the glory of God. We conclude this is a fruit of the the Spirt that has fallen on hard times.

Restless wanted to have some audio for you while you waited in line to vote today. This will probably be the last time we cover elections per se and all future election specials will discuss God’s purpose in election.

So this is your last chance at getting us talking anything like politics on Election Day. That does not mean we do not think it is important. No we think God has direction for the civil sphere as well. Let’s all start with the Reformed Confessions on the Civil Magistrate.

For today we are happy to limit our discussion to the future of the church across the emerging nations in the US. Let us know what you think about Pastor Michael’s take on the viability of National Denominations.

The Last Episode we spent more time celebrating two years of Restless. This week it is all reformation day. We still do give aways.

We talk about a reformation in our day. We defend Calvinism. We keep talking to people about the Battle Hmyn of the Republic. And we watch some Lutheran Satire.

Thank you for listening

We talk about Beer and if we should drink it like Luther or not. We talk about the tone of the show. Shout out to you feraldoc.

Thank you for listening. If you liked this episode- the next episode is jam packed with discussion of a reformation today, defending calvinism and why Lutherans don't want to let us in on their reformation.
