Relationships are always going to be tough. They take work. Even when you see the most blissfully happy people in life, don’t ever believe that they are happy all of the time. Because everybody has their moments and they know that they have to work at it.

What happens when you find that you have an issue within your relationship that makes things so much harder? This is what it can feel like when you’re in a toxic relationship. A lot of the time, you will feel like you’re trying and trying and trying, but not really getting anywhere. So what do you do?

Well, you do have to ensure that you’re being as patient as possible. Although it’s not overly ideal, you do have to work extra hard if you’re going to get anywhere with it. Sometimes, problems won’t be able to be fixed – and you’ll have to accept that too. But, as long as you’re aware that relationships take work and you’re happy to work for it, even some of the most challenging toxic situations can be improved. So let’s take a look at seven solutions that you could turn to.

    Communicate

First of all, you’re going to want to make sure that your communication lines are strong. There can be many reasons why a relationship is toxic or goes through a toxic period, and communication can be a cause of that. If you’re just not listening to each other, or even trying to understand each other, then you have an issue. So if you really want to make it work, then step back and start to work on your communication. You’ll be surprised by how effective this can be.

    What is the metaverse?

Good question. “Metaverse” is currently a major buzzword in the worlds of tech, business, and finance, and like all buzzwords its definition is fuzzy, contested, and shaped by the ambitions of the people using it.

Here’s one thing we can say for sure: The term was coined by Neal Stephenson in his 1992 novel Snow Crash to describe a virtual world in wide use in his imagined future, a 21st-century dystopia. In Snow Crash, the metaverse is a virtual-reality world depicted as a planet-encircling market where virtual real estate can be bought and sold, and where VR goggle-wearing users inhabit 3D avatars whose form they have freedom to choose.

These three elements — a VR interface, digital ownership, and avatars — still feature prominently in current conceptions of the metaverse. But none of them is actually essential to the idea. In the broadest terms, the metaverse is understood as a graphically rich virtual space, with some degree of verisimilitude, where people can work, play, shop, socialize — in short, do the things humans like to do together in real life (or, perhaps more to the point, on the internet). Metaverse proponents often focus on the concept of “presence” as a defining factor: feeling like you’re really there, and feeling like other people are really there with you, too.

This version of the metaverse arguably already exists in the form of video games. But there’s another definition of the metaverse that goes beyond the virtual worlds we know. This definition doesn’t actually describe the metaverse at all, but does explain why everyone thinks it’s so important. This definition isn’t about a vision for the future or a new technology. Rather, it looks to the past and to the now commonplace technologies of the internet and smartphones, and assumes that it will be necessary to invent the metaverse to replace them.

    What is grief?

Grief is a natural response to loss. It’s the emotional suffering you feel when something or someone you love is taken away. Often, the pain of loss can feel overwhelming. You may experience all kinds of difficult and unexpected emotions, from shock or anger to disbelief, guilt, and profound sadness. The pain of grief can also disrupt your physical health, making it difficult to sleep, eat, or even think straight. These are normal reactions to loss—and the more significant the loss, the more intense your grief will be.

Coping with the loss of someone or something you love is one of life’s biggest challenges. You may associate grieving with the death of a loved one—which is often the cause of the most intense type of grief—but any loss can cause grief, including:

    1. Divorce or relationship breakup
    2. Loss of health
    3. Losing a job
    4. Loss of financial stability
    5. A miscarriage
    6. Retirement
    7. Death of a pet
    8. Loss of a cherished dream
    9. A loved one’s serious illness
    10. Loss of a friendship
    11. Loss of safety after a trauma
    12. Selling the family home

Even subtle losses in life can trigger a sense of grief. For example, you&

The pseudo-scientific formula that explains most human bonding is basically time + affection + togetherness = relationship. So what happens to humans and their interconnectedness when two of the key elements—time and togetherness—are removed or increased? Can digital communication replace human to human contact? How do couples cope with stressful events they have never before encountered? This is the focus of a series of studies published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, which has dedicated several special issues to relationships in the time of COVID-19.

“When COVID hit it became clear to me that… it would be really important for us to provide a space for relationship science to showcase their work,” says Pamela Lannutti, the director of the Center for Human Sexuality Studies at Widener University in Chester, Penn., and one of the editors of the series of issues. So the journal put out a call for researchers who had begun research on what relationships were like in this unique set of circumstances and the studies flooded in.

You may think of stretching as something performed only by runners or gymnasts. But we all need to stretch in order to protect our mobility and independence. "A lot of people don't understand that stretching has to happen on a regular basis. It should be daily," says David Nolan, a physical therapist at Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital.

    Why stretching is important

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.

    Where to start

With a body full of muscles, the idea of daily stretching may seem overwhelming. But Nolan says you don't have to stretch every muscle you have. "The areas critical for mobility are in your lower extremities: your calves, your hamstrings, your hip flexors in the pelvis and quadriceps in the front of the thigh." Stretching your shoulders, neck, and lower back is also beneficial. Aim for a program of daily stretches or at least three or four times per week.

Find a physical therapist (your local Y is a good place to start) who can assess your muscle strength and tailor a stretching program to fit your needs. If you have chronic conditions such as Parkinson's disease or arthritis, you'll want to clear a new stretching regimen with your doctor before you start.

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unique identifier that can cryptographically assign and prove ownership of digital goods.

As NFTs for digital artwork have sold for millions — sometimes tens of millions — of dollars, to say they're popular could be an undersell. In the first half of 2021, NFT sales hit $2.5 billion.

However, once you understand how NFTs work, you'll see there are additional use cases for this technology

What Happens to Your Body When You Drink a Glass of Wine Every Night

Sure, you might have experienced the anecdotal effects of this when you wind down with a glass of wine at the end of a long day. But there is actually some research behind wine's stress-lowering effects. A compound in red wine, called resveratrol, is responsible for a lot of wine's anti-inflammatory benefits. Research from 2019 in the journal Neuropharmacology found that resveratrol might have anti-stress effects by blocking enzymes in the brain that lead to depression- and anxiety-like behaviors. Another review of studies found that moderate wine consumption (one glass a day for females and two glasses a day for males) was associated with a 32% lower risk of depression.

    "A good leader should always … "

How you finish that sentence could reveal a lot about your leadership style.

Leadership is a fluid practice. We're always changing and improving the way in which we help our direct reports and the company grow. And the longer we lead, the more likely we'll change the way we choose to complete the sentence above.

But in order to become better leaders tomorrow, we need to know where we stand today. To help you understand the impact each type of leader has on a company, I'll explain what a leadership style is, then share eight of the most common types and how effective they are.

Then, I'll show you a leadership style assessment based on this post's opening sentence to help you figure out which leader you are.

    Time Management:
    https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/careers/soft-skills/time-management-list-tips/
    ---------------------------------------------------------

Ways to reach your full potential

Below, you’ll find 10 methods to unlock your full potential.

    1. Develop a growth mindset vs. a fixed mindset

American psychologist Dr. Carol Dweck’s research shows that embracing challenges, focusing on effort over outcome, and having a belief that you can grow and improve are critical components to reaching your full potential.

ou can grow a growth mindset. Start by recording and celebrating your small wins. Work with a coach and/or therapist to accelerate this shift.

    2. Combine reflection and action

Action and reflection, combined, build momentum. Turbo-charge this process by working with a coach or an accountability partner.

    3. Focus on the big picture

What are the primary questions that drive your life? Unhappy with where you’re at? The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your questions.

Make it a habit to step back and reassess.

    4. Time management

    Are you a time-master or a time-slave?
“Not enough time” is one of the biggest obstacles to reaching your full potential. Good news, though, time mastery can be learned. This is good, because time management is one of the most important elements of self-management.

Check out David Crenshaw’s course on the fundamentals of time management.

    5. Develop goals

In addition to your “To do” list, create a “To be” list.

    Imagine you’ve alrea
