What is tai chi?
Tai chi is a form of exercise that began as a Chinese tradition. It’s based in martial arts, and involves slow movements and deep breaths. Tai chi has many physical and emotional benefits. Some of the benefits of tai chi include decreased anxiety and depression and improvements in cognition
Trusted Source. It may also help you manage symptoms of some chronic diseases, such as fibromyalgia
Trusted Source or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
Trusted Source.
1. Reduces stress
One of the main benefits of tai chi is its ability to reduce stress and anxiety, though most evidence is anecdotal.
In 2018, one study
Trusted Source compared the effects of tai chi on stress-related anxiety to traditional exercise. The study included 50 participants. The researchers found that tai chi provided the same benefits for managing stress-related anxiety as exercise. Because tai chi also includes meditation and focused breathing, the researchers noted that tai chi may be superior to other forms of exercise for reducing stress and anxiety. However, a larger-scale study is needed.
Tai chi is very accessible and lower impact than many other forms of exercise. The researchers found it to be safe and inexpensive, so it may be a good option if you are otherwise healthy and experiencing stress-related anxiety.
2. Improves mood
Tai chi may help improve your mood if you are depressed or anxious. Preliminary researchsuggests that regularly practicing tai chi can reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression. It’s believed that the slow, mindful breaths and movements have a positive effect on the nervous system and mood-regulating hormones. Further research is being done to establish a clear link between tai chi and improved mood.

What is TOFU and is it good for you?

What Is Tofu?
Tofu -- or bean curd -- is made by pressing curdling soy milk into a solid block. Some tofu is firm while others are more soft and smooth. It can be sliced into different shapes and cooked in lots of ways.
People in Japan have made tofu for more than 2,000 years. It’s gotten popular in other places more recently.
Some people complain that it's bland, but it nicely takes on the flavor of the sauce or seasonings you prepare it with. And it's got a lot of health benefits going for it.
Tofu Health Benefits
Like other soy-based foods, tofu contains plant estrogens. For many years, people thought soy added too much estrogen to your body and led to breast cancer in women.
But much of the research that raised that concern looked at the effects of soy on rodents. Those animals process soy differently than humans do. Studies with people show that tofu doesn't have enough plant estrogens to cause breast cancer. And some research suggests tofu may lower your risk of the disease.

4 Easy Family Time Ideas For Fun and Meaningful Connection
Subscribe Today: https://thingsyoushouldknow.supercast.tech
When I think back on my childhood, it was idyllic in many ways. My family took some amazing vacations that included everything from white sand beaches to quaint lakeside cottages. My mother orchestrated backyard birthday parties with scavenger hunts that kids would talk about for weeks afterwards. During the holidays, our house was covered in festive decorations and because of my large extended family I had no less than five different Christmas celebrations.
All of this was fun, without a doubt, and I definitely have some great memories from these times.
But my BEST memories don’t come from any of this. My most vivid memories that transport me back to the pure joy and contentment of my childhood are often of simple, non-extraordinary moments.
Going to the duck pond with my father on Sunday mornings while my mother slept in. Playing scrabble for hours on the back patio (yes, we were a nerdy family) and trying to catch my father cheating. Snuggling next to my mom at bedtime as she read me chapter after chapter of the Little House on the Prairie books.
Now, think back on your own childhood memories. Aren’t some of the best times you can recall ones that happened without a lot of fuss and planning?
The lesson in all of this is that we modern parents are making family time too hard.
Our expectations are so high and we’re demanding too much of ourselves. Yes, our lives our busy and these days more and more families have two working parents. We feel rushed and over-scheduled and often fear that we’re not spending enough time with our kids.

Losing weight is as easy as... breathing? Yes, it's true, though you have to commit to the type of breathing exercise that works to calm the sympathetic nervous system, lower the stress hormone cortisol, and help the body shed fat. Studies have shown breathing exercises work to promote weight loss and help you feel calm and energized. So if you want to trade in your morning workout for breathing, or better yet, add on ten minutes of breathing a day, there is plenty of scientific evidence that reveals breathing can be an effective weight-loss tool.
Breathing lowers cortisol which helps the body lose weight or burn fat
Deep breathing exercises lowers cortisol, the stress hormone in the body, which in turn can help you lose weight. Cortisol is a "fight or flight" response to a stressor and tells the sympathetic nervous system to hold onto fat (for the battle or the journey) so when cortisol goes up, you hold onto calories and when it goes down, your body lets go, allowing you to burn fuel to support your activity. Studies have shown a connection between cortisol levels in the body and obesity, metabolic syndrome, and weight gain. Breathing exercises have been proven to help lower cortisol.
In one study, called "The role of deep breathing on stress," 38 university students aged 18 to 28 were divided into two groups, to see if breathing intervention helps improve mood and reduce stress. One group practiced deep breathing exercises, for a total of 10 treatments, while the others just sat in a quiet room without doing the breathing exercises. Among those who learned and practiced the breathing exercises, their biological profile of stress had improved as measured by heart rate and salivary cortisol levels which both went down.
Breathing brings oxygen to cells and releases CO2, the "exhaust" of fat burning
Deep breathing increases the supply of oxygen in your body and this extra oxygen helps you burn extra fat, according to a study. Breathing deeply also helps to improve blood circulation and allows the body to exhale CO2, or the output when you break apart carbon for fuel, which is essentially how fat gets burned. Think of it as the exhaust fumes from your engine.
Belly breathing can even help the process, according to experts, who recommend trying different types of breathing exercises to see which one works for you.

Affiliate Marketing II - How to Select a Product or Service / How to Create a Marketing Platform for Sales
Subscribe Today: https://thingsyoushouldknow.supercast.tech
Starting out can be daunting for new ClickBank Affiliates. With so many different ways to market and so many industries to tap into, choosing the one that is best for you can be difficult.
Here are some suggestions to help you narrow down your niche:
Take Your Time
A common mistake for new affiliates is to rush through the research phase. It’s important to take your time figuring out what area is right for you and what will set you up for success. Ask yourself:
Explore the Categories
Generally topics fall into four different categories: Passions, hobbies, problems, trends.
Passions are things like fitness, causes, and lifestyles. They are typical elements of people’s lives that take up a substantial amount of emotional and physical energy.
Hobbies are things like chess, golf, and canning. These are also important parts of people’s lives, but they are generally approached with less intensity than passions.
Problems are things that people believe add suffering to their life or impede their progress.
Trends are things that are currently gaining a lot of attention or traction.
Explore the Market
Once you have an idea of what the right niche is for you, explore the market. Is this an area where people spend money? A good way to find out if this niche is profitable is to find out what else is selling in it. Is there a particular magazine about the topic? Are there multiple magazines about the topic? That’s an even better indicator that people are willing to spend money on products affiliated with the category.
Explore the Products
Next, take a look at what kind of products are out there related to the topic. Ideally, a profitable niche will support informative and physical products. Affiliates will miss an opportunity if they select a niche that only supports the sales of either informative products or only supports the sales of physical products.
Narrow it Down
Another mistake new affiliates make is going too broad with their area of interest. We suggest narrowing it down. Getting more specific with your niche reduces competition and provides a particular audience to reach.
Once you know what your niche is, you are ready to proceed to build a platform. For more information on how to build a platform to promote products, check out this article.

Affiliate marketing is the process of earning money (commissions) every time you promote a company’s products or services and drive a sale. You only get paid every time you drive a sale, just like a commission-only sales representative.
Passive income.
That’s the dream, right?
Make money while you sleep.
For 99% of people, affiliate marketing is how they get started.
The idea behind it is that you promote other people’s products, often through an affiliate network, earning a commission if people actually end up buying thanks to your marketing.
It’s based on revenue sharing. If you have a product and want to sell more, you can offer promoters a financial incentive through an affiliate program. If you have no product and want to make money, then you can promote a product that you feel has value and earn an income from it as an affiliate marketer.

The oil aisle can feel like the Wild West. With so many varieties on store shelves, it can be overwhelming. Which is best for salad dressing? What about marinating chicken? Are certain varieties healthier options?
When it comes to whether certain oils are better than others for your specific cooking need, the answer is yes. Certain oils work well in sauces and dressings, while others are suited for high-temperature cooking or baking. Not to mention that every oil has a different taste and a range of health benefits (or lack thereof). So, instead of grabbing the cheapest oil on the shelf, here's what you need to know to choose the right one.
Choosing an oil: Smoke point, nutritional facts and price
There are a few things to consider when choosing an oil, including smoke point, cooking method, taste and nutrition. Smoke point is the temperature at which the fat begins to break down and oxidize. For optimal taste and nutrition, oil shouldn’t be used above its smoke point. Ones with higher smoke points are best for roasting, baking, frying and sautéing. Those with lower smoke points make nice finishing oils, dressings, sauces or dips. Taste also plays a role in your choice, since some have a more noticeable flavor than others.
In terms of nutrition, it’s important to remember that oils are a calorie-rich fat. Most are high in the “good” polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fat, but some do have significant amounts of the “bad” saturated fat. Regardless which oil you are using, it’s important to pay attention to portion size to avoid overdoing it and keep calories and fat intake at a reasonable level. A serving size of oil is 1 tablespoon and using 2-3 tablespoons in a recipe that feeds four people is ideal. For baked goods that call for a lot of oil, you can lighten the recipe by replacing half of what is called for with an equivalent portion of pureed fruit, like mashed banana, pureed pears or no-sugar applesauce.

What should your heart rate be when working out, and how can you keep track of it? Our simple chart will help keep you in the target training zone, whether you want to lose weight or just maximize your workout. Find out what normal resting and maximum heart rates are for your age and how exercise intensity and other factors affect heart rate.
How do I get my heart rate in the target zone?
When you work out, are you doing too much or not enough? There’s a simple way to know: Your target heart rate helps you hit the bullseye so you can get max benefit from every step, swing and squat. Even if you’re not a gym rat or elite athlete, knowing your heart rate (or pulse) can help you track your health and fitness level.
What is a resting heart rate?
Your resting heart rate is the number of times your heart beats per minute when you’re at rest. A good time to check it is in the morning after you’ve had a good night’s sleep, before you get out of bed or grab that first cup of java!
Is resting heart rate different by age?
For most of us (adults), between 60 and 100 beats per minute (bpm) is normal.1 The rate can be affected by factors like stress, anxiety, hormones, medication, and how physically active you are. An athlete or more active person may have a resting heart rate as low as 40 beats per minute. Now that’s chill!
When it comes to resting heart rate, lower is better. It usually means your heart muscle is in better condition and doesn’t have to work as hard to maintain a steady beat. Studies have found that a higher resting heart rate is linked with lower physical fitness and higher blood pressure and body weight.2

What is the Havana Syndrome?
Subscribe Today: https://thingsyoushouldknow.supercast.tech
Up to 200 Americans have reported possible directed energy attack symptoms, including new cases in Vienna that came to light last week, according to NBC News.
Biden administration officials have received a steady stream of cables from overseas posts reporting potential new cases of "Havana syndrome" symptoms, a U.S. official told the network.
Officials said there are now possible cases on every continent except Antarctica, with almost half of the possible cases involving CIA officers or their relatives. Around 60 cases involved Defense Department employees or relatives, while about 50 were tied to the State Department.
The exact cause of the ailments in Vienna, which U.S. government agencies formally refer to as “anomalous health incidents” or “unexplained health incidents,” remains unknown, but in response to the surge the C.I.A., the State Department, and other agencies are redoubling their efforts to determine the cause, and to identify the culprit or culprits. A C.I.A. spokesperson said that the agency’s director, William Burns, was “personally engaged with personnel affected by anomalous health incidents and is highly committed to their care and to determining the cause of these incidents.” Privately, Burns has called the maladies “attacks” rather than incidents. A State Department spokesman said, “In coordination with our partners across the U.S. government, we are vigorously investigating reports of possible unexplained health incidents among the U.S. Embassy Vienna community.”

How to Avoid Online Phishing Attacks, Pt 2 (with our Expert)

How To Recognize Phishing
Scammers use email or text messages to trick you into giving them your personal information. They may try to steal your passwords, account numbers, or Social Security numbers. If they get that information, they could gain access to your email, bank, or other accounts. Scammers launch thousands of phishing attacks like these every day — and they’re often successful. The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center reported that people lost $57 million to phishing schemes in one year.
Scammers often update their tactics, but there are some signs that will help you recognize a phishing email or text message.
Phishing emails and text messages may look like they’re from a company you know or trust. They may look like they’re from a bank, a credit card company, a social networking site, an online payment website or app, or an online store.
Phishing emails and text messages often tell a story to trick you into clicking on a link or opening an attachment. They may
