Retro Gaming Discussion Show

Join Drisky and Kingy as they celebrate the excellent series of games in the Bubble Bobble world. The timeless classic that is Bubble Bubble is consistently on arcade players' top ten favourites and is undisputedly one of the best arcade games of all time. It spawned many other spin offs too, including the excellent Rainbow Islands.

Don't let Baron von Blubba get you, sit bat and let us make a journey to the cave of monsters!

In this episode, Aaron, Matt A & Matt L table the discussion that troubled so many gamers in the 8-bit, 16-bit and even 32-bit era. Which is better, PAL or NTSC. More importantly, what's the difference?

If you've ever been confused about this eternal struggle, we're here to help. If you don't know your RGB from your RF, your 60HZ from your Big Black Borders, and perhaps you're complexed why box art varies so much from region to region, don't worry… the boys cover all this and more as they pull out the best and the worst that each gaming region has to offer.

We thought in these strange times, we would look for our listeners how to Netplay, in other words playing classic retro machines remotely.

To add to the fun, Kingy and Drisky decided to have a competition of some versus games on the Mega Drive and 32X virtually, where the very honour of our retro gaming crown and our respective countries were at stake.

Kingy and Drisky dive back into the wonderful world of magazine cover tapes and disks on the Amiga and Spectrum.

Cor Blimey! Howz-about a free exclusive book to accompany show for every listener!!! ... https://archive.org/details/rgdscovertapewars_202004/mode/2up

Talk about generous!!!

At last, and back my popular demand, the team return to the epic battle-fest that is Best Game of 1987.

The lads argued, fought and whittled the list down to a whopping 25 games and then argue their case for their own personal top 5. Which game will be crowned the top game of this year.

Join Drisky, Kingy, Ric and Garron as they try their best to entertain you in such a difficult time we are globally living in. Please note that many references made in this episode were recorded prior to the lockdown in which we are all currently living under.

Be safe everyone, we will make it through this.
