The atrocities Hamas committed against Israel on October 7, 2023, should have brought universal condemnation of the Arab terrorist group, but instead has resulted in an explosion of antisemitic violence and international condemnation of Israel. There has been resistance to these horrifying developments, but Hanoch Young believes it’s not enough. Where is the Jewish activism he knew in his youth? And where is the Christian activism in support of our Jewish brothers and sisters? That’s a key topic in this concluding part of our conversation.

Rational people desire peace, but how do we define peace and how do we pursue it? Barry Phillips and David Jones talk about that in their midrash, “Passover and Peace.” The only lasting peace, of course, comes from our Heavenly Father, as we hear in the music of Wilderness Cry.

Hanoch Young has been a Jewish activist since his youth. As he will tell you, that’s what got him arrested on three continents before his 21st birthday! He’s still an activist, but instead of protesting and gaining negative attention from authorities, he’s building bridges with the House of Joseph in expectation that one day soon the two parts of God’s Covenant Nation of Israel will become one in Messiah’s hand. In this three-part interview, we hear his thoughts about Israel’s relations with the new American government, the state of Jewish-Christian relations, and much more!

Some might say Hanoch has an anointing to reach out to Christians and tell them about their identity as Ephraim. That’s a good description of why he does what he does. But what exactly is an anointing? That’s a question Barry Phillips and David Jones discuss in their midrash, “Anointing or Preferences?” We also have the anointed music of Laura Metzing and Samuel & Benjamin Wearp!

What would it take for Israel to extend an invitation to Christians who express identity with and love for the world’s only Jewish State to come and live there? What about those who identify as Ephraim, and therefore as part of the non-Jewish tribes of Israel? Is Israel close to welcoming them? Hanoch Young has some instructive thoughts about that which he shares in this second of our three-part conversation. It’s not so much a matter of who we say we are, but what our actions say is in our hearts!

Barry Phillips and David Jones also have a few things to say about this identity question. Their midrash, “Who Do You Say I Am?” delves not only into the answer the disciples gave to Yeshua when he asked that question, but the answer we might receive when we ask him the same question. It’s an identity issue that inspires the music we hear from Jimmie Black and Will Spires.

What is more important to our Creator: that we have perfect knowledge of His word, or that we act on what we know with hearts of compassion? Tony Boyatt has been talking about this since the earliest days of The Exodus Road Band. In fact, the band’s first album is called Heart of the Matter! Tony shares how he learned that truth through hard experience. He has walked out the lesson of repentance that has led him to healing and to greater freedom in Messiah. It’s a lesson Tony believes the Torah Movement should take to heart.

In a sense, we are all caught in a spiritual prison. Our hearts are incorrigible, and thus our Creator has turned us over to the consequences of our own misdeeds. That’s where we would remain had our Creator not determined to bring us out of that dark place. This is the story of redemption – we didn’t earn it, but God offers it anyway, even when we don’t realize there’s a better alternative to our current circumstances, nor understand how to find that alternative.

This is the story of Mark Randall’s life. One might say he was doomed from birth to a lawless life of darkness, but God would not leave him to that fate. How that happened is the subject of our lengthy interview with Mark. He explains how he exchanged the life of an incorrigible criminal to one of a redeemed servant of the Most High.

At 95 years of age, Canadian Georgina Saunders has a few stories to tell! Georgina’s intimate walk with the Lord began at about the time many people are entering their twilight years. Her life was already eventful and fascinating before then, but the real adventure began when she surrendered her life to Yeshua, embraced an enduring love of Israel, and made herself available to her Redeemer to go where He directed. That commitment took her immediately to the ends of the earth!

If what comes out of our mouths reflects what's in our hearts, then do our words give us an indication of how yielded we are to the Spirit of God? Barry Phillips and David Jones investigate this in a penetrating midrash about righteous character.

Why should Christians care about Israel and the Jewish people? That’s a question Al McCarn answers in his new book, Christian Zionism 101: Ten Reasons Christians Should Support Israel and the Jewish People. It all starts with the definition of Zionism: the movement for the return of the Jewish people to their ancestral homeland and the resumption of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel.

So why exactly should Christians (both in the traditional churches and Messianic and Hebraic followers of Messiah Yeshua) be Zionists? Al answers that by sharing an overview of the ten biblical, historical, cultural, ethical, and prophetic reasons presented in his book. If you love Israel, but have trouble explaining why, then this is a message you should hear – and a resource you should have on your bookshelf!

When did the history of Israel begin? Not in 1948, when the modern state of Israel became independent, and not in 1917, when the British Empire declared its agreement to a homeland for the Jewish people. As Al McCarn explains in his book, Christian Zionism 101: Ten Reasons Christians Should Support Israel and the Jewish People, the history of Israel began when God called Abraham out of his homeland to become father of the Covenant Nation 4,000 years ago. That’s one of the reasons Christians should support Israel and the Jewish people. There are more, as we learn in this concluding part of our conversation.

Israel is God’s Covenant Nation, but what exactly does that have to do with followers of Messiah Yeshua – both traditional Christians and Messianic/Hebraic believers? Barry Phillips and David Jones provide some answers in their midrash, “The Blood of the Covenant.” It’s a subject worthy of many songs, such as the ones shared on this show by Laura Metzing and the Aleph Tav Band.
