  • Reunion Roadmap Midrash: Entitled Miracles

What does God think about us when we show little appreciation for the things He has done for us? The story of Israel in the wilderness gives us some answers to that question. Barry Phillips and David Jones investigate those answers and make some applications for us in this penetrating discussion.

  • Israel Connections: Susanne Ratcliffe - Stones of Wrath, The Twins

What's the connection between Argentina and Denmark, and what does that connection have to do with Israel's Lost Tribes? Author Susanne Ratcliffe can tell you!
Susanne's latest novel, Stones of Wrath: The Twins, is the second part of a trilogy about a mysterious artefact somehow linked to ancient Israel. In this new novel, she carries forward the story begun in Stones of Wrath: The Tapestry, tracing the actions of her characters through the intrigue of World War II in Denmark, where the nation is under Nazi occupation, and Argentina, where there is considerable sympathy for the Nazi regime.
What's next in God's promised restoration of all Israel? Susanne's third novel might have some answers, but since she's still working on it, the best thing is to read her first two novels and learn how fiction and real life sometimes aren't so different as we might expect!

  • Reunion Roadmap Midrash: Water and Spirit

When did Yeshua mean when he said that we must be born of "water and spirit" to enter the Kingdom of God? Barry Phillips and David Jones discuss that question by looking at wider meanings of water and spirit in the Word, starting in the first chapter of Genesis.

  • Laura Lee: Healing the Shepherds to Heal the Sheep, part 3

Do pastors and spiritual leaders need counseling and deliverance? Of course they do! They suffer from the same problems as everyone else. Sadly, they may be the last ones to get help because they are so focused on helping others. That's why Laura Lee has a vision to help the shepherds get the healing and deliverance they need. In this final part of our conversation, she shares how this vision is taking shape, and invites you, our audience, to be part of the process!

This is a matter of accessing the living water our Messiah has placed in us. There is a large element of humility and repentance involved, as we hear in the midrash David and Barry share called "Digging Wells," and in the music of Teshuva and Will Spires.

  • Laura Lee: Healing the Shepherds to Heal the Sheep, part 2

It’s bad enough that anyone would suffer extreme trauma and abuse as a child, so how much worse can it be when such a person tries to get help, only to find that the persons they trust only make the problem worse? Laura Lee can tell you about that; it’s part of her journey toward freedom and healing from the pains that plagued her for much of her life. In this second part of our conversation, she shares the progressively more difficult stages of her journey, starting with her return to church, where she found that her wounds were deeper and more complicated than she thought.

Laura Lee’s journey as the Modern Day Samaritan Woman reminds us in some ways of the Prodigal coming home. That’s what the Exodus Road Band sings about in their musical offerings. There’s also an element of deception in Laura’s story – not just the deception under which she labored, but the deception of others that she encountered. Barry and David address that in this concluding part of their appropriately-named midrash, “Be Not Deceived.”

  • Laura Lee: Healing the Shepherds to Heal the Sheep, part 1

Is anyone beyond redemption and healing? Laura Lee would tell you no, but it's a long, hard journey. She has travelled that road, first suffering through an abusive childhood, and then dealing with the manifestations of that abuse in the form of addictions and dysfunctional relationships. That's why she calls herself the Modern Day Samaritan Woman, and why she has a calling to help others attain the freedom and restoration that she has received. In this three-part interview, Laura Lee tells us her story, and then shares her vision for a conference for pastors and leaders to get the help they often don't get because they are so involved in helping others.

Laura Lee has much to say about trauma and the deception (often self-deception) that goes along with it. Barry and David have something to say about that as well in this two-part midrash called, "Be Not Deceived." The more we focus on our Redeemer, the less susceptible we are to deception. That's the message we hear in the music of Debra Pagel and Miriam Houtz.

  • Reunion Roadmap Midrash: Apples and Fire

It's traditional to enjoy apples and honey at Rosh Hashana in expectation of a sweet new year, but is there more to this tasty Jewish custom? Is there are deeper spiritual significance that speaks to the high regard our God has for His people Israel - both the native born and those adopted into the covenant? That's the topic of conversation in this midrash with Barry Phillips and David Jones.

  • Reunion Roadmap Midrash: Presumption or Faith

People of faith should step out in faith - as long as they are doing so in obedience to God rather than in obedience to their own desires. How do we know the difference? That's an important question Barry Phillips and David Jones investigate in this midrash.

  • Israel Connections: Dr. Gayle Timberlake - Festival In A Box

If you were just beginning to wonder about the festivals Yeshua celebrated and whether they have any meaning for Christians, where would you go to get answers? Dr. Gayle Timberlake has a suggestion: take a look at the Simka Foundation, which not only offers teachings on the Feasts of the Lord, but also has resources to help people celebrate the Feasts on their own.

In this conversation, Gayle explains how she came to understand and experience the blessings of observing the appointed times Messiah Yeshua observed, and establish the Simka Foundation as an avenue to help others experience that same blessing and joy. This is something our Jewish brothers and sisters have known for a very long time, but Christians are only now coming to understand it. The Simka Foundation helps individuals, families, and churches enjoy these blessings as they follow the example of Messiah Yeshua in celebrating the Feasts.

  • Reunion Roadmap Midrash: Rain on the Just and the Unjust

We may never get satisfactory answers about why bad things happen to good people, and why good things happen to bad people. That doesn't mean we should walk away from God and blame Him for every injustice. What it does mean is that we should keep on asking God the hard questions, just as Barry Phillips and David Jones do in this conversation recorded in the spring of 2019. It just might be that the answers God gives call for a change of perspective to make sense out of perplexing situations and figure out what to do next.
