What are you planting here on earth? What are the seeds you are planting now that will grow later? How will you be remembered in terms of what you have planted. Are we eating your crops of hatred, harm, destruction? If we were living off of the crops you planted, what would that say about our health?

Psalm 65:9-13

This Independence Day is like no other in recent history. We are facing a number of challenges that have turned the world around. There are a number of aspects of life that are at a standstill, although life goes on. Between the pandemic, social unrest, racial challenges and overall dis-ease, sheltering in place is called for and yet it is a form of isolation impacting us all.

The solution, we need to learn how to care for each other. It is that simple. We can't say that we love God and demonstrate hatred for another, that makes us liars. These times call for the only solution available, authentic love from the core of our being and that is God's love.

1 John 4:20-21

Are you aware of your spiritual nobility? Are you being responsible for who you are in spirit and in turn responsible for the future presence of Spirit? That nobility is needed right now. With all of the challenges in the world, your spiritual nobility is the remedy.

Psalm 89:15-23

In the Old Testament the temple was the place where people would go to worship and make sacrifices. The ministry of Jesus talked about the presence of God within. This concept challenged church hierarchy as it gives agency to individuals to commune with God anytime and anywhere. An agent operating on your behalf wasn't necessary. How radical. Could it be said then that we each hold that place within where God is present?

The temple of God is within.

1 Corinthians 3:16-20

Romans 5:10-11 The Message (MSG)

9-11 Now that we are set right with God by means of this sacrificial death, the consummate blood sacrifice, there is no longer a question of being at odds with God in any way. If, when we were at our worst, we were put on friendly terms with God by the sacrificial death of his Son, now that we’re at our best, just think of how our lives will expand and deepen by means of his resurrection life! Now that we have actually received this amazing friendship with God, we are no longer content to simply say it in plodding prose. We sing and shout our praises to God through Jesus, the Messiah!

Emmanuel Levanis the Jewish philosopher proposed that we are to hold other, someone perceived as different than our selves, as holy. If we were to do that the experience of life would result in a universal process of caretaking. During these turbulent times, we need to hold other as holy.

Matthew 19:16-30

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” He said, “I do not know; am I my brother’s keeper?” Genesis 4:9

This is a form of the narrative that we are living under today. There may be a lack of awareness that this is operating, but that lack of awareness is part of the problem. We all need to wake up to what we can and should change. When we are aligned with the truth that being one in Spirit provides, we will be on a course toward improving this condition in the world.

What if we were to look at these current pandemic conditions from a different perspective? What if we were to consider these conditions a test? Not so much a test of our medical readiness or even our ability to diagnose and treat. But, what if this were a test of our sense of global community? How would you grade the work if that were the test?
