In this episode, Eli discusses an apologetic for the resurrection of Jesus from a presuppositional perspective. Drawing from Greg Bahnsen's article "The Impropriety of Arguing Evidenetially for the Resurrection," Eli draws out the proper role of historical evidence from within a consistently presuppositional paradigm.
In this episode, Eli is joined by Lydia McGrew to discuss the evidence for the Gospels. (Disclaimer): Lydia McGrew does not hold to the "Inerrancy of the Bible." I strongly disagree with her here and believe that scriptural inerrancy is a vital issue. Nevertheless, the evidence presented here can be utilized by proponents of biblical inerrancy and is therefore, still very valuable information. While Lydia and I have some important differences and disagreements, this was a very enjoyable and informative discussion, and I am grateful that she made the time to come on and speak with me.
Did I Use Reason to Discover That Christianity Grounds Reason Itself?
A critic recently asked.
In this episode Eli answers the question and explains why the answer is both yes and no—and why that’s not a contradiction. From a presuppositional apologetics standpoint, reasoning doesn't happen in a vacuum. While reason is used, it should not be treated as autonomous or neutral. Instead, he reasons within the framework of the Christian worldview, which alone provides the necessary preconditions for logic, knowledge, and moral obligation.
This isn’t about finding God through neutral logic—it’s about recognizing that reason itself depends on the Triune God of Scripture.
In this episode Eli looks at EAAN (Evolutionary Argument Against Naturalism) and answers the question, 'Can a presupper use this argument?'. EAAN is formulated by Alvin Plantinga who is known as one of the leading Christian philosophers alive today.
In this episode Eli is joined by Melissa Dougherty. They discuss Melissa's previous entanglement with New Thought and how to combat its deception.
In this episode, Eli shares about his recent interaction with some Jehovah's Witnesses.
