The church in Jerusalem was growing by the day, but persecution drove the Spirit-filled Jesus followers out of the city and into the surrounding countrysides. As they fled Jerusalem, they spread the gospel everywhere they went, even into Samaria. And God showed up in Samaria just as He showed up in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost.
