Rewatchability

"A 1999 thriller starring Ashley Judd predicated on a law stating a person may not be charged with the same crime twice."

"What is DOUBLE JEOPARDY?"

"That is correct. You have the board."

"I'll take movies that are a Rip-Off of The Fugitive for $200."

"This actor just can't help himself from helping people wrongfully accused of murder."

"Who is Tommy Lee Jones?"

"Correct. Final clue. You thought this movie was thrilling when you were younger, but how does it hold up now?"

Hold onto your Huggies, this week we're bringing up Raising Arizona, the 1987 comedy by Joel and Ethan Coen starring Nic Cage and Holly Hunter as an unlikely couple, who, being unable to conceive or adopt a baby, decide to steal one. Also featuring John Goodman, Frances MacDormand and a bunch of babies that who knows what happened to them and if they had mommas that loved them, this movie introduced us to a lighter, but no less brilliant side of the Coen brothers, but how does it hold up now?

This week on Rewatchability, we do your dirty work for you by rewatching DIRTY WORK, the 1998 comedy starring Norm MacDonald as a guy who who performs people's nasty tasks through his revenge-for-hire business, called "Dirty Work". Directed by Bob Saget and also featuring Artie Lange, Jack Warden and Chevy Chase as well as other SNL alum dudes throughout the ages, we thought this movie was hilarious when we were younger, but how does it hold up today?

We implore you, do not recite the ancient passages. Do not summon EVIL DEAD II!

Yes, this week we're talking about the 1987 low budget comedic horror film directed by Sam Raimi and starring Bruce Campbell (who recently announced he was retiring as the bumbling hero Ash following the cancellation of the TV series, Ash vs The Evil Dead). Join Us. This movie was a huge cult hit despite being basically the same movie as the first Evil Dead, but how does it hold up to the modern eye?

This week we go on a most excellent adventure with Bill & Ted in BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE! Starring Alex Winter as Bill S. Preston, with Keanu Reeves as Ted 'Theodore' Logan, it's a movie about two time-travelling dudes who will have a massive effect on history, despite almost flunking history. Also featuring the most righteous George Carlin as Rufus, as well as a bunch of historical dudes and babes who are also most excellent, this movie changed the course of history (for some of us), but how does it hold up in the most bogus present of 2018?

In preparation for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War, we go way back to where it all began with IRON MAN, Jon Favreau's 2008 comic book adaptation starring Robert Downey Jr., Terrance Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow and the Dude himself, Jeff Bridges! This movie has everything; metallurgy, a stripper pole that appears from the floor of an airplane, caves, and a man who is so rich and so smart that he can be a jerk to everyone and they have to put up with him. This movie wowed us when we first saw it, but has it lost its luster?

This week we go down under and put another shrimp on the barbie for CROCODILE DUNDEE, the titular hero of this 1986 adventure- comedy that became a 'roo-sized hit all over the world! Starring Paul Hogan, Linda Kozlowski, as well as Reginald VelJohnson, this movie has everything from crocs (the reptiles, not the footwear) to knives which are bigger than other knives! Crikey! We thought this filmeroo was a hootholla when we were younger, but how does it hold up today?

In anticipation of the show's unlikely revival, we plop on the couch with ROSEANNE! This classic sitcom, starring comedian Roseanne Barr as the titular working mother of three and John Goodman as her husband Dan, painted a hilarious and often moving portrait of the working class American family fighting and arguing with each other. Just like real families! Also featuring Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert and like four different girls playing Becky, this show was like a second family to us when we were younger, but how does it hold up through grown up eyes?
