Survivor South Africa RHAPup hosts Mike Bloom and Shannon Guss invite Survivor SA legend Rob Bentele onto the podcast to discuss the first episode of Immunity Island, including analysis of the big move, clarification around some of the twists and a Bio-Strath-less Bio-Strath variety hour. Then Mike chats to this week’s eliminated contestant.

Survivor: Cook Islands | Why Yul Won | David Bloomberg & Jessica Lewis

Cook Islands began with tribes separated by race. But in the end it came down to brains vs. brawn, with just one vote separating Yul and Ozzy. How did Yul pull it off? How much of his success should we attribute to the overpowered idol compared to his own game play? And what was Ozzy missing? David and Jessica did a full season rewatch and took a new look at David’s older articles and interviews, using Yul and Ozzy’s own words to explain the highs and lows of their games. It’s time to take a new look at Why Yul Won.

As we take a look back at past seasons of Survivor on the RHAP All-Time Top 40 Season Rankings, some winners make us scratch our heads and think hmm how did they win? Today, David Bloomberg (@DavidBloomberg) and Jessica Lewis (@jessicalewis89) are here to apply David’s seven rules of Survivor to Yul’s game. They walk us through the season of Survivor: Cook Islands as they explain Why Yul Won!

David Bloomberg’s Seven Rules of Survivor:

1) Scheme and Plot

2) But Don’t Scheme and Plot Too Much/Keep Your Scheming Secret/Don’t Backstab Until You Absolutely Need To

3) Be Flexible!

4) Don’t Let Your Emotions Control You

5) Pretend To Be Nice/Play the Social Game – Act Like an Adult/Don’t Drink Too Much/Don’t Be Lazy or Show Your Bad Habits/Keep Your Politics and Controversial Beliefs To Yourself

6) Don’t Be Too Much of a Threat

7) Trust (Almost) Nobody

Appendix A: The Jury Phase

Conclusion

Do you think Sophie was the most deserving winner of this season? If not, who should have won and why? Head on over to Twitter to let us know who should have won by tagging @RobHasApodcast and using the hashtag #RHAP!

Unapologetically herself, Katie is adventurous, daring and ready for a man with whom she can build a life. A marketing manager with an innate social media savvy and humorous outlook on life, she is a witty storyteller who wants a man that will laugh along with her.
