Survivor: Vanuatu | Why Chris Won | David Bloomberg & Jessica Lewis

Chris caused his tribe to lose the very first challenge because he couldn’t make it over a balance beam. Very often, that would spell the end of a Survivor player. But Chris had bigger plans and a while he was unable to handle the beam, the rest of his game was very balanced. At the merge it again looked like he should have been doomed, but he turned that around too and came out as the winner. How did he pull it off? David and Jessica did a full Vanuatu rewatch and took a new look at David’s older articles and interviews along with other information. Did it cause them to appreciate Chris more or less? It’s time to take a new look at Why Chris Won.

As we take a look back at past seasons of Survivor on the RHAP All-Time Top 40 Season Rankings, some winners make us scratch our heads and think hmm how did they win? Today, David Bloomberg (@DavidBloomberg) and Jessica Lewis (@jessicalewis89) are here to apply David’s seven rules of Survivor to Chris’ game. They walk us through the season of Survivor: Vanuatu as they explain Why Chris Won!

David Bloomberg’s Seven Rules of Survivor:

1) Scheme and Plot

2) But Don’t Scheme and Plot Too Much/Keep Your Scheming Secret/Don’t Backstab Until You Absolutely Need To

3) Be Flexible!

4) Don’t Let Your Emotions Control You

5) Pretend To Be Nice/Play the Social Game – Act Like an Adult/Don’t Drink Too Much/Don’t Be Lazy or Show Your Bad Habits/Keep Your Politics and Controversial Beliefs To Yourself

6) Don’t Be Too Much of a Threat

7) Trust (Almost) Nobody

Appendix A: The Jury Phase

Conclusion
