RHO Podcast

Austin Stone is the man behind Tactical Approach Outdoors. When he's not laying the hammer on giant public land bucks in Missouri and Kansas, he spends his time managing and consulting on hunting properties, teaching webinars and whitetail workshops, and creating awesome content on YouTube.

This week we got to pick his brain on how to pattern public land bucks. Austin gave us the low down on his approach to doing just that. You're sure to pick something up in this episode that will help you be a better hunter.

On this Full Draw Friday, Canyon talks about some struggles he had with his bow setup lately. Getting your archery equipment tuned isn't always an easy task. It can take time and patience, which is why it's important to have everything ready to go by the time season rolls around. However, if you notice something is off, don't be scared to fix it. You owe it to yourself and the animal to get your bow shooting correctly and consistently.

Is it going to be a bad year for EHD in Illinois? If you hunt Illinois, I'm sure you've either asked, seen, or heard this question. Chances are, you've probably heard it every year, around August and September, since the dawn of the whitetail. Maybe not quite since then, but at least since 2007 or perhaps 2012. In this episode, I'll do my best to answer that question, and maybe put your mind at ease one way or another.

If you've got any info on EHD this year, send it our way!

Josh Fields is the Marketing and Sales Director at Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls. He found his way to that position after spending 7 years in Minor League Baseball for the Chicago White Sox. Josh is an expert in not only elk calling, but also elk hunting. Yes, there is a difference. He's put down some show-stopper bulls over his career and isn't looking to quit anytime soon. We talked to him this week about his journey to this point and even got into quite a bit of elk hunting talk. Hope you enjoy!

Jared Mills is a bonafide big buck slayer. He's been taking Boone & Crockett bucks on camera for almost 15 years now. After graduating from Maryville University with a degree in Sports Business, he created an internship for himself with none other than Bill Winke. After spending over a decade at Midwest Whitetail, Jared now films for his own YouTube channel. He's still putting out some of the best footage in the industry and is an overall great dude. Hopefully you enjoy this conversation as much as we did.
