Richard Lyon was a man who had it all. He had money, a loving wife, and two little girls. But, when he met another woman, he began scheming on how to get out of his marriage. He wanted this new woman, but, he did not want to give up his social status, his money, or his children. He developed a plan to poison his wife, Nancy, and he almost got away with it.
Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss Richard Lyon. When he married Nancy, Richard gained the status and money that came from her family. He wasn't about to give that up and to do that he had to remove Nancy from the picture. He began poisoning Nancy over a period of time and it culminated with her death in 1991. Nancy's family was suspicious from the start and eventually, police charged Richard with Nancy's murder. But, during his trial, it looked as though his defense was set to gain an acquittal. It took a bombshell from the prosecution to seal his fate.
