Finally this morning, we check in with Jim Hobgood, co-host of Hoos Talking, former Congressional candidate, and father of "Producer Dan"! John and Jim discuss the 2024 campaign at length, speculating that Donald Trump -- if re-elected -- could appoint Governor Youngkin to a cabinet position, thereby promoting Winsome Sears to Governor and allowing her to run in 2025 as an incumbent. (John and Jim also try to predict whom President Trump will ultimately choose for a running mate.)
Atop the 8 o'clock hour -- and following last week's court hearing regarding the Diamond District lawsuit -- we hear once again from local activist (and filer of the suit) Paul Goldman, who offers an update about his efforts and discusses what happens next.
Next up this AM, at the bottom of the 7 o'clock hour, is Cleta Mitchell, Senior Legal Fellow at The Conservative Partnership Institute and Founder of the Election Integrity Network. John and Cleta reflect on some of the suspicions regarding the 2020 Presidential Election and apply lessons learned from the last cycle to 2024. (Not unlike former President Carter, Cleta ultimately advocates the sharp curtailment of mail-in voting, to preclude the prospect of rampant fraud.)
Happy Monday, listening family! Because today is Monday, that means that we hear from Fox and Friends co-host and outright host of The Brian Kilmeade Show, Brian Kilmeade! John and Brian discuss the ongoing Trump Trial in New York, as well as the death of Iran's President in a helicopter crash.
Finally this week -- Producer Dan's favorite weekly segment (haha)! Our "Movie Guy," Mike Mayo joins us for a conversation about one of the best movies of all time -- Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest, back in theaters this weekend!
Atop the 9 o'clock hour, former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell joins the show, for a retrospective about Brown v. Board of Education (a decision which is 70 years old as of today).
Former Governor and U.S. Senator George Allen joins us at the bottom of the 8 o'clock hour, and after a brief aside about the just-released NFL schedule, he talks to John about an initiative to restore the old Washington football logo, Virginia's competitiveness among other states (especially in the region), and an appointment as the new Chairman of the Reagan Ranch Board of Governors!
"It's Friday. . . ." This means that Clay Hamner, of Lythos Studios, is with us -- to talk to John all about what folks can do in and around Richmond on this (expected-to-be-rainy!) weekend.
At the bottom of the 7 o'clock hour, Congressman Rob Wittman calls back in to the show -- to talk about everything from Biden's policies, to the House's move to hold Attorney General Garland in contempt, to the fentanyl/border crisis, to Biden Administration policies, to the seemingly aborted VSU Presidential Debate.
Happy Friday, listening family!!! Today brings us another edition of "Reid on the Road" -- and with that being the case, first up among our guests for the day is Paige Newman, Curator at John's destination for the day, The Virginia Museum of History & Culture. John and Paige discuss the museum's latest exhibit, dedicated to late chef and cultural phenom Julia Child!
