Daniel Wagner joins from Vancouver is Awesome and gives his insight on who he thinks would be best suited to join the penalty kill unit, and just why he feels Nils Hoglander has been one of the Canucks most consistent players this year.

The guys kicked off the show by setting up the upcoming game vs the Predators on Friday night. They talked about the PP and how it set up at practice. 

Patrick Johnston joined for the first in-studio guest for the show. Talked about the comparisons between this team and the 19/20 team. Talked all sorts of PP talk.

On the other side we dive into who Wadden and JPat are putting in their penalty box and players of the week. Also joined by a very special guest, Corey Basso of Whitecaps Play by Play on the radio.

The guys got right into it with looking into the OT win over the NYR. Talked about the story through the first 10 games. JPat spoke with Brandon Sutter and gave an update on his status.

Harman Dayal of the Athletic joined the guys. Says the biggest part of the NYR game was snapping the losing streak. The team just needed to win so badly. Going 0-4 would not have been able to fly in this marketplace. They need to put last year in the rearview. Talked about the 3rd period scramble. Talked to the amount of shots the Canucks are giving up. Doesn’t think the Canucks will ever be an above average defensive team. There is merit to saying that 5 on 5 is trending up for this team. They are showing some stability. It’s about the special teams that need to work in their favour to get to the playoffs. Talked about the usage of Garland on the PP. Talked about the dangers of putting Hamonic and Schenn together. Expected TM to be rusty after the time off. Didn’t like the look of the pair. Overall the team played a strong game 5 on 5 vs NYR. Talked about Podkolzin and his effort vs NYR. Harm thinks he is becoming more comfortable as every game passes. Talked about where he would play on the PP if an opportunity came up.
