Its easy to have a "feeling" that something is off in your community.
OR MAYBE your lagging indicators (i.e. Sales) are telling you something is off.
Your real facts may be able to validate your "feelings". Your sales funnel is telling a story. Are you listening?
If you want to know how to calculate, benchmark and interpret your sales funnel data tune in! We will talk about what story each part of the funnel is telling. What's off, is it product, price, people or positioning? Where do we begin. If you become good at interpreting this data you can identify a slow down and an opportunity to adjust SOONER and reach your goals faster and easier. This makes you a more valuable sales person and sales leader!

People tend to be more emotional or more logical.
We like to either "feel all the feels" or "keep it real".
When it comes to business most decisions are made based on logic.
SOOOO if you want to become more effective and persuasive about getting results or providing impactful solutions you need to BLEND the feels with the reals.
On this episode we talk about your true obligation as a sales pro or sales leader to your organization.
Take a sip of that accountability cola and do your math.
What is your sales pace for the year X Average Sales Price = ANNUAL REVENUE that you are responsible for.
Sales leaders add that number for each community you manage. That is your respsonsibility to the organization.
With that in mind it is only fair that they supply us with tools and resources and ask for stats and data SHOWING how we are going to reach those BIG TARGET #s'.
It's not micro-managing, it's not big brother watching you, its support! Numbers tell a story.
Numbers + intuition = an even better story!
Let's dig into how we can paint a clear picture when presenting solutions for greater impact.

I am grateful to have my first guest of 2023, Reyna Estrada.
Reyna is the National Internet Sale Manager for M/I Homes. She recently spoke on a panel at the International Builder Show (IBS) about cultural diversity in homebuilding. I asked her if she would be willing to share her take on selling homes to diverse cultures as well as real life solutions for how we can do better for our customers keeping in mind diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). She speaks specifically about the Hispanic community and what they are looking for in home buying and how we as an industry can provide better resources to help them attain the dream of homeownership.
Her unique story plays into her insights as an immigrant, new construction homebuyer while also having 20 years experience in the industry. Tune in to learn about how you can increase your cultural empathy and implement some of these solutions into your organization today.
If you want to reach out and connect with Reyna use the link below.
If you have some real life solutions you or your organization has implemented to improve DEI in the workplace and for customers please shoot me an email [email protected] I would love to keep this conversation going! When we know better we can do better and this requires continual conversations and shared best practices to improve our industry and customer experience.

When employees or customers become more abstract or physically distanced leaders have the capacity to make decisions that can cause them harm. This is the theory of abstraction from Simon Sinek's book - Leaders Eat Last.
I feel abstraction hits companies the hardest when it comes to Customer Experience (CX), Employee Experience (EX), and Leaderships Growth.
If you want to absolve abstraction you need to create connection.
"Managers manage numbers, leaders lead people." We must work diligently to create a circle of safety in your organization and that starts by getting to know the people you work with and building trust.

I used to think quit was a four letter word. You are never supposed to quit!
Grit was the key to success.
I still agree that grit is essential but I think I was confusing quit with "giving up". Giving up when faced with resistance when something is important to you is not okay! You need to grit for that which is important to you.
But also, you need to quit that which is no longer serving you.
We have one life to do with what we want. Time spent on things that drain us and don't align with our biggest priorities need to be quitted with confidence.
Be quitty and gritty!

One year ago this week I handed in my resignation after a 16 year career in homebuilding.
I quit corporate.
It was part of what I refer to my midlife crisis or what Brene Brown refers to as the great unraveling. It was a very hard and yet very easy decision at the same time. My goal of sharing is to help women realize that you are not alone in wanting to show up as your true self. It is more important to belong than to simply fit in.
