Living from your heart is all about following the leadership of the Holy Spirit. He abides in you with all of Heavens resources at His disposal. But wrong thinking can limit the flow and keep you from experiencing the abundant life that Jesus promised. Every thought that is contrary to God’s is like stacking stones in a river that can eventually block it completely. Most of us visit the doctor on a yearly basis and the dentist every six months. Checkups are vital for identifying a problem before it becomes too big. This Sunday, we are going to take some time to check up on our hearts.

What is the condition of your heart? Where do your affections lie? Proverbs tells us to “pay attention to the welfare of our heart.” Your life moves in the direction of your most dominant thought. We want our affections set on heaven. Be there tomorrow as we talk about steering our hearts on the right course.

While the Law itself was good, it lacked the power to change a sinful heart. Rule keeping in order to earn salvation is an oppressive and overwhelming burden. It’s also impossible! Jesus is the one who came and finished the law era and brought Grace to our world to empower us. We now carry the message of this wonderfully amazing Grace to a world who still thinks they have to earn it.
