26-year-old man grabbing toddler from mall play

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, a toddler left the indoor play area at around 11:45 a.m. July 18 at the Fair Oaks Shopping Center in Fair Oaks, Virginia, when she was allegedly grabbed by 26-year-old Andres Caceres Jaldin, according to FOX 5.

Parents of the young girl found Jaldin on the second floor of the mall and got their daughter back.

Kamala Says no to California

Kamala Harris on Wednesday announced that she will not make a bid to replace term-limited Gov. Newsom.

"In recent months, I have given serious thought to asking the people of California for the privilege to serve as their Governor," Harris said in a statement. Sen Josh Hawley says "Ban it"

A long-awaited stock trading ban passed through the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee on Wednesday, with committee Democrats joining with the bill's sponsor, Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., to send the bill to the floor of the Senate.

States Sue USDA/Trump

New York Attorney General Letitia James on Monday said she is helping lead a group of 20 Democratic attorneys general in suing the Trump administration over its demands that they turn over information about food stamp recipients and applicants in their state—an effort she excoriated as a "dangerous and illegal overreach" by the administration to unlawfully locate and track down illegal immigrants.

The lawsuit, led by James, California Attorney General Rob Bonta, and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, comes after the Trump administration demanded states turn over detailed personal information related to recipients and applicants of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, before July 30.

The Trump administration has threatened to withhold SNAP funding from states who fail to comply with the July 30 deadline—teeing up a high-stakes, eleventh-hour court clash between Trump officials and leaders from 20 Democratic-led states.

Tariiff Rebates

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) introduced the American Worker Rebate Act, legislation that would send rebate checks to working Americans following the historic revenue accrued through President Trump’s tariff policy.

“Americans deserve a tax rebate after four years of Biden policies that have devastated families’ savings and livelihoods. Like President Trump proposed, my legislation would allow hard-working Americans to benefit from the wealth that Trump’s tariffs are returning to this country,” Senator Hawley said.

Senator Hawley announced this legislation last week after President Trump voiced support for this policy when he discussed record-breaking tariff revenue.

The United States now has record monthly tariff revenue, which nearly reached $30 billion in June. Several projections suggest the United States could see over $150 billion in tariff revenue in 2025 alone.

Mistaken Identity

The gunman who stormed a high-rise building in the heart of New York City on Monday evening reportedly had a grievance with the NFL.

Shane Tamura, who was identified as the man who killed multiple people including an NYPD officer in the rampage at 345 Park Ave in Midtown Manhattan, cited the NFL in a note left near his body on 33rd floor of the building after he died by suicide, the New York Post reported

The 27-year-old Nevada resident blamed the sport of football for apparent issues with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a side effect from repeated hits to the head, the outlet reported, citing law enforcement sources.

Last week, President Donald Trump signed an executive order (EO) intended to bring back civil commitment, in other words, the ability to put people who are a danger to themselves or others in institutions, even against their will.

Americans, if they’re so inclined, can now donate to pay down the national debt via Venmo and PayPal.

Donors can go to Pay.gov and, under "Gifts to Reduce the Public Debt," choose between the more traditional bank account or credit/debit card options and the newer options to make a gift.

The national debt, which measures what the U.S. owes its creditors, rose to $36,721,531,033,603 Friday, according to the latest numbers published by the Treasury Department. That is up about $34.5 billion from the figure reported the previous day. Forty years ago, the national debt was $907 billion..

Director Bongino vows to reveal 'truth'

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino posted a lengthy message on his official X account in which he vowed to bring the American people "the truth" after saying that he had learned things that "shocked" him.

"During my tenure here as the Deputy Director of the FBI, I have repeatedly relayed to you that things are happening that might not be immediately visible, but they are happening," Bongino wrote. "What I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core. We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned."

Michigan Walmart stabbing

Police on Sunday identified the 42-year-old man accused of wounding 11 people in a random stabbing spree at a Walmart in Michigan.

Authorities identified the suspect as Bradford James Gille, of Afton, Michigan, on Sunday afternoon. Police are seeking to file terrorism charges and 11 charges of assault with intent to murder against Gille.

Chuck Mangione, noted flugelhorn player, trumpeter and composer, has died. He was reportedly 84.

Mangione, a flugelhorn player whose composition “Feels So Good” became an unlikely pop hit in 1978.

Social Security

Millions of seniors could face devastating cuts to their Social Security benefits in just over seven years.

The report projects that the Social Security and Medicare trust funds are on track to run out of reserves by late 2032. When that happens, federal law requires that payments be limited to incoming payroll taxes, triggering an automatic 24% benefit cut for retirees unless Congress acts.

The cause, in part, is linked to new tax provisions under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

The Justice Department has formed a "strike force" to assess the evidence publicized by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard relating to former President Barack Obama and his top national security and intelligence officials' alleged involvement in the origins of the Trump–Russia collusion narrative.

U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche met with Ghislaine Maxwell in Florida on Thursday. "Miss Maxwell answered every single question. She never stopped. She never invoked a privilege. She never declined to answer. She answered all the questions truthfully, honestly and to the best of her ability."

DNI Tulsi Gabbard doubled down on her allegations that Obama administration officials politicized intelligence and laid the groundwork for a "years-long coup" against President Donald Trump.

"There are a lot of deep state actors still here within Washington. President Trump wants us to find the truth. I want to find that truth. The American people deserve the truth, and they deserve accountability, which is I'm really glad to see that Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice announced the creation of a strike force team today,".

"Specifically, to get after all the intelligence and evidence that we have gathered. We have more coming and to determine the path forward to bring about that accountability.".

AI Action Plan

President Donald Trump unveiled his administration’s AI policy yesterday to promote its AI goals and outpace China on development.

Trump signed three executive orders yesterday to kick-start the policy effort—one on fast-tracking permits for data centers, one to promote exporting AI tools to friendly nations, and one restricting federal contracts to AI chatbots the administration deems to be free of ideological bias.

Judge denies DOJ request to unseal Jeffrey Epstein grand jury transcripts in Florida

A federal judge in Florida ruled Wednesday that the court's "hands are tied" in releasing federal grand jury transcripts from 2005 and 2007 in connection with an investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.

The ruling was separate from a request the Justice Department has pending related to a grand jury in the Southern District of New York, where Epstein was ultimately indicted.

Cellphone bans

As the new school year approaches and lawmakers across the country decide whether to enact cellphone bans in schools, Americans’ support for such bans is inching up.

Today, 74% of U.S. adults say they would support banning middle and high school students from using cellphones during class, up from 68% last fall. Far fewer (19%) oppose classroom bans and 7% are unsure, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted in June.

Hunter Biden: another drug filled rager?

The White House called out Hunter Biden after he slammed the Trump administration’s immigration policies in a recent web series interview.

"Am I not supposed to feel for someone? Am I going to be like all these Democrats say, ‘You have to talk about and realize that people are really upset about illegal immigration?' F--- you. How do you think your hotel room gets cleaned?" Biden later added.

"How do you think you got food on your f---ing table?" he continued. "Who do you think washes your dishes? Who do you think does your f---ing garden? Who do you think is here? By the f---ing sheer f---ing just grit and will that they figured out a way to get here because they thought that they could give themselves and their family a better chance."

Malcolm-Jamal Warner

Warner was swimming Sunday at Playa Grande de Cocles in the Limon province when a current pulled him into deeper waters.

Warner gained fame as the son of Heathcliff Huxtable, played by Bill Cosby, on "The Cosby Show" from 1984 to 1992. He appeared in all 197 episodes of the NBC sitcom.

Trump, Russia, Obama and Schiff

President Donald Trump called for California Democrat Sen. Adam Schiff to face jail time alleging Obama administration officials "manufactured and politicized intelligence".

"Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff is in BIG TROUBLE!" Trump posted to Truth Social Sunday evening. "He falsified Loan Documents. He once said my son would go to prison on a SCAM that Schiff, along with other Crooked Dems, illegally ‘manufactured’ in order to stage an actual coup."

"My son did nothing wrong, knew nothing about the fictional story," he added. "It was an American Tragedy! Now Shifty should pay the price of prison for a real crime, not one made up by the corrupt accusers!"
