Scotus Slaps Down PPH!

The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that a South Carolina woman and Planned Parenthood do not have a legal right, known as standing, to bring a lawsuit challenging South Carolina’s decision to exclude Planned Parenthood from the state’s Medicaid program on the basis that the organization provides abortions.

By a vote of 6-3, the court, in an opinion written by Justice Neil Gorsuch, held that a provision of the Medicaid Act requiring states to ensure that Medicaid patients can obtain care from “any qualified provider” does not create the kind of clear and unambiguous right required under the Supreme Court’s cases to allow private lawsuits alleging violations of the provision.

The decision means that the lawsuit by Julie Edwards, who had been treated by Planned Parenthood and sought “to shift all [her] gynecological and reproductive health care there,” cannot move forward – and she therefore cannot challenge the state’s decision to exclude Planned Parenthood from Medicaid.

Freak umbrella accident leaves lifeguard impaled in beach day horror

A beach day turned into a scene straight out of a horror movie for a lifeguard after she was impaled by an umbrella.

The incident happened Wednesday morning at Asbury Park’s 3rd Avenue Beach, where first responders were called to the Jersey Shore for reports a young woman was trapped by a beach umbrella.

Fellow lifeguards found the young woman lying on the ground near the lifeguard stand with an umbrella stake through her left shoulder and sticking out the back of her arm by about a foot.

The steel square pans (borrowed from the auto industry) give it a unique shape and one-of-a-kind flavor. The square pans were also unique in that they were made from thick steel, that more closely resembled a cast iron skillet. Portland anti-ICE riot crushed by federal agents:

Federal agents used non-lethal munitions to shut down a large group of protesters who tried to block law enforcement vehicles from entering and exiting an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday night.

The chaotic scenes unfolded when agents deployed rubber bullets, tear gas and flash bangs to disperse the crowd who had swarmed the compound, according to video captured by Turning Point USA’s Frontlines.

Where can I get $3500 a week to assist my family? Apparently, Massachusetts!

Massachusetts taxpayers are on course to spend $1 billion on the state’s emergency shelter program for FY25 with migrant families making up a significant share of those receiving assistance, according to a new report.

Gov. Maura Healey’s administration has already spent $830 million so far in FY25 – which started on July 1 – accommodating more than 4,000 families who have been receiving taxpayer-funded shelter, food, education, legal aid and case management.

The costs work out at about $3,496 per week per family, or around $1,000 per person per week for the program, known as the Emergency Assistance (EA) system.

Trump Makes More Monstrous Changes to the White House

Donald Trump continued his White House overhaul Tuesday after announcing the installation of two giant flag poles on the White House grounds—a “gift” from the president that he said “was always missing.”

The two structures, which Trump had previously said would be about 100 feet, will be erected on the North and South lawn, overlooking the White House by some 30 feet, the president announced Tuesday night.

“It is a GIFT from me of something which was always missing from this magnificent place,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump previously said a U.S. flag will fly atop the poles, and while the exact location is unclear, the president claimed they are “paid for by Trump.” The president confirmed “digging” will begin Wednesday morning, and that flags are expected to be raised by mid-morning.
