Having been made worthy by Jesus, our lives are meant to be marked by what William Barclay calls the gems of the Christian character in humility, gentleness, and bearing with one another in love. We’ll also explore the doctrine of ONE’s that serve as the foundational to our unity given to us through the work of Jesus.

Now we move to the real pivot verse as we look at this connection to the rest of the letter.  Before we get to any commands in chapters 4, 5, and 6 let us recall the truths about Grace in chapters 1, 2 & 3 that are meant to stir our passions and desires to serve God wholeheartedly.

Todays sermon is from our study from the book of Ephesians chapter 3. We've all been discouraged. Discouragement leads us to lose heart, grow faint, and it can seize our faith preventing us from continuing to do good. Paul understood this constant threat and in turn prayed for the saints to overcome it. What did he specifically pray for that would help them? This sermon explores Pauls prayer that we would be rooted and grounded in the love of Christ.

Ever run into a celebrity? Spotted royalty from a distance? How about backstage passes for your favorite band?  VIP treatment at a well attended event?  These scenarios don't happen all the time, but when they do they capture our affections.  Paul wants the church to know that they have the freedom and confidence to approach God himself.  This sermons intent is to stir our gratitude of this truth!

Paul is humbled to be chosen to bear witness to the Gospel mystery.  God's grace unites the Jews & Gentiles into a new people,  calls the church to be the manifold wisdom of this mystery.  This sermon touches on 3 parts of the mystery that Paul wants us to know!

Paul uses three increasingly intimate illustrations to describe the new identity of the Gentiles who are in Christ!   

God designed us in harmony with him to partner in co-ruling his creation.  Sin reduced us to slaves missing the mark of our true purpose and the life we were designed to live.  God's rich mercy made us alive in Christ.  How do we enter into this gift covenant with God? And is it possible for us to live like we were created for?     Yes! Because we are God's workmanship!

What's so amazing about Grace?  Grace saves us.  It makes us alive in Christ when we were dead in sin.  It seats us with Jesus in the heavenly realms after enslaving ourselves to the lowest existence.  It truly is amazing!
