Today is the third episode in our Summer Series “Treasuring God” where our aim is to reinvorgate our connection to God, his church and our communities. Today our sermon title is “Treasuring Vulnerability.” Vulnerability paves the way for growth and transformation. God places a high value on vulnerability, but the idea of it is more attractive than the reality. This sermon aims to encourage vulnerable discipleship to God and with one another.

And so the Book of Acts comes to an end with a shout of triumph.  It is the peak of Luke's story. Luke never told us what happened to Paul, whether he was executed or released as this was not Luke's purpose. Luke gave us his scheme of Acts when he told how Jesus commanded his followers to bear witness for him in Jerusalem and all over Judaea and Samaria and away to the ends of the earth ( Acts 1:8).  Chapter 28 is a resounding victors cry as the Gospel has reached the center of the known world.

As Paul concludes his 3rd missionary journey we are shown his resolve to go to Jerusalem.  After three attempts to dissuade Paul, one from each city he visits, the disciples finally give up and say, "The Lords will be done."  We all find ourselves in these spaces where we desire to do God's will and in the spot where we must surrender to His will.  Listen to this sermon and learn about the need to be resolved to do God's will and be apart of a community that desires God's will to be done.
