  • Eps 298. The Stayner Brothers.

Today we discuss the very different lives of two brothers, one a hero and one a monster. The first who was abducted and abused for a huge portion of his formative young life, who escapes, saves another young boy in the process and is considered a hero. The other remains in his family’s safe care, raised by those who love him becomes a serial killer brutally murdering 4 women and is considered a monster. A truly interesting couple of cases in the question of Nature vs Nurture, and how their experiences did not decide the outcome of these two men’s lives.

  • Eps 295. Backing up Humanity.

Civilisation is fragile, extremely fragile. Throughout history numerous powerful civilisations have risen and fallen, unfortunately we are no different. We marvel at our technological prowess, at our seemingly bullet proof modern world but nothing last for ever. At some point it will end and unless we take steps to safeguard or species, humans will eventually die out. This week we look at colonising space, interstellar travel, seed banks, DNA arks, and storing back ups of humanity on other planets for safe keeping.

  • Eps 291. The Hollow Moon.

This week we discuss the formation of the moon, its larger size in comparison to the earth, and what makes it so special. The earth moon system is a precisely balanced celestial pair, tuned perfectly for the existence of life. The odds of this are enormous, giving rise to the theory that the moon was placed in orbit around the earth by an alien race billions of years ago.
